The only couch I like happens to be the "show couch"
"YOU CANT SLEEP ON THAT, THATS THE GOOD COUCH! THE ONE FOR COMPANY!"
damn good couch, but i'd choose a bed any day
My little brother is on his third tour of duty in Iraq, and everytime he leaves I fear it will be the last time I ever see him, so I do understand your fear.
The Navy is actually a pretty good idea, they probably aren't on the front lines in Iraq. My sister joined the navy to help pay for nursing school and it worked out well for her.
It is so hard when people we love do things we don't want them to do- we feel so helpless. All you can do is BE A GOOD EXAMPLE for your brother- that speaks volumes!
He's very lucky to have a brother like you to guide him!
does he have a girlfriend? if he does encourage her to ask him to stay...i was in line to join the navy but cut out because my girlfriend wanted to be with me (we are now engaged and oculdnt be happier).
if not, try to hook him up with a respectable chick...
i odnt know.. sorry if this advice was useless
wow man... i had a lot of respect for you... and i know you dont care at all what im saying, but after that you just went down a couple notches in my bookQuote:

i mean i totally feel for you slip i do... id hate to be in your position, i dunno what i would do, but i mean.. cmon you dont have to resort to that kinda shit. keep an open mind.
actualy... once you sign that paper saying you want to join the military... you sign your life over to the US goverment(well what life you do have) to go fight for "freedom"(usaly for other countrys) and they dont just give you a gun and a pill that makes you invincable... and there are no cheat codes like on the video games that makes your health re heal, or that makes it so the enimies shoot watermelon flavored gummie(like gummie worms) bullets... your enimes shoot real lead(and metal) bullets... at a speed fast enugh to kill you... they plant bombs along side the road that will injur and or kill half of your squad... they toss bombs out of planes that will crack your head open and send your arms to the other side of the world... so when you sign up for the military... im going to agree with slip... and say, yea, you basicaly sign your own death warent...Quote:

but anyways.... i like the couch alot better then my bed... i always feel more at home sleeping on a couch... partly, because when i was younger.... i ended up throwing my bed out my window... because it was smelly and nasty... and it was my brothers befor it was mine... and he had a night time problem... so i pulled our old couch into my room, and slept on that for a few years... until i ended up breaking it... and so i grabed the love seat(ohh my god... it was fucking big and soft...) and i slept on that for a long time until i got a new bed for baby sitting(got a intire bedroom set for baby sitting my uncles kids for a few days)
