I'm having a really hard time maintaining temps and humidity. I had to order parts for my humidifier, and they probably won't be here til Monday. It's 25%rh in there right now. I keep getting shocked everytime I bump into something metal, which is frequently in that tiny space.
I added 4 26W daylight cfls as supplemental side lighting, but it made the temps shoot to 90 in 4 hours, so that's out the window. And it still gets too cold in there during lights out.
They've already grown past the edge of the 4 gallon buckets, and are growing upward, just in 3 days, so I'll have to untie them, probably tonight. That means I'll have to raise the light a bit too, as untied they are too close to it.
No obvious signs of sex yet, but I can see pre-flowers forming in the calices. My magnifying glass sucks. I need a more powerful one.
They were bone dry, so I watered. They really suck down the water with that hot ass light going, and the fans running all the time. I added a big floor fan. I positioned it right in front of the intake, to pull the cold air up and blow it at the plants. Anyway, I watered, using 1/2 (half) a tablespoon of molasses to 2 gallons of water. They drank every bit, very little runoff, maybe 4 oz. from each plant.
Did a little research, and found out the average pH of my city water in my particular neighborhood is 7.8. The pH of the largest part of my soil mix is 5.5. When I check runoff and soil on my plants, it hits at 6.8-6.9. So they must be balancing each other out.
It's "night" for them right now. I keep lights out during the day, to control temps, since it's naturally warmer outside and in my bedroom during the day. So, no pics until later, after midnight.
We close on the house next week. At least that's the plan now. I believe we're supposed to go in Friday the 16th to cross the final Ts and dot the final Is. Once we do, I have to go to the new house, and map out and start setting up my growroom so that when we move, it's ready to receive. I hadn't counted on us moving this soon. I was hoping we wouldn't move til after harvest. Now I'm worried about the effect transporting could have on my plants. It's cold outside here, and I'd have to move them at night so as not to disrupt their lighting schedule. ::sigh::
It's always something.
That's all for now.:hippy:

lol, not quite. Canadian tire is a... a mans store. Of course it has the automotive section, lots of tools, outdoor stuff, camping/fishing stuff, lighting, pet stuff. like a mans Walmart! that's it. I went searching across the city for fans and Canadian Tire had a whole aisle.
As for your heat/cold problems I don't know girl. You have to keep the closet closed right? If you could open the door a little and bought a little tower fan($20 Canadian tire) it could blow air in the bottom and force hot ai back out the top. The cold problem might require a small heater. as for the humidity don't worry about it and cancell those parts you have coming. As you get farther into flowering the plants take up more water and transpire more. I started with 26%RH and now am up to 50%.

Aaahahahaha! A man's Walmart LOL!
I keep the door closed because of the smell, my kids, and the cat.;) I don't really have to keep it closed. I just prefer it that way. Also, the closet is near a window, and with the hps on, it looks like God is standing in my closet.:D I tacked up a dark purple blanket over the window though, so that helps.
Thanks for the info on humidity. I was getting worried. It seemed so desert-like in there, all dry and windy. Which is why it's perfect for drying lingerie. ;)

I went into a Staples and they said they had no fans at all. They literally laughed at me and told me to come back in the summer. I ordered 3 fans off of their website and they were delivered the next day.
This little $20 one is great for a cab: STAPLES Business Depot | BUREAU EN GROS
Since you have temp problems at both day & night have you considered changing your light cycle so the lights are on at night instead? You could kill 2 birds with one stone. I am seriously considering doing that, especially as it gets hotter over the next several months.

Yeah my bad! I completely missed that, or forgot. :)

I just could NOT solve my temp problems quickly. So I took the plants off the stand they were on and put them on the floor. They're on a piece of carpet with padding underneath, and plastic on top of that. I just had to put more space btwn them and the light, and raising the light wasn't going to work. I just hope they don't stretch all to hell. To try to combat this, I'm going to add the cfls back into the equation. I untied them as well. They've been tied down for 7 days.
Here's hoping this solves my high temp issues. Now I've just gotta work on my low temp issues.

you are doing best possible to help those plant they need to be cooler then veg during flowering. you should try to find a fan ( Mrs.GJ throws a big hard book to whiskeys face and yells "Thats what ive been trying to do!" ) ouch..
do you use co2? i have a little bottle with water sugar and yiest in there i read it somewhere you can also put baking soda and vinegar its cheap ways of co2:) im also going to foliar feed them in about 1.5 weeks with guano and stuff. you could buy some guano and put it in with ur water. i heard if its used a week before flowering - a week into flowering it gives off huge results. hope those girls start showing soon :)

Hi Whisky:) I've got fans galore going in there right now. I'll post some pics in a bit.
I was using the yeast/sugar method for CO2, but the low temps in my closet kill the yeast. I was having to make a fresh batch every day, and now I"m out of yeast and snowed in.:(
