It just seems like now-a-days bands are more interested in making a catchy tune that will get them a quick buck than writing really good music.
Think about it. The Beatles broke up more than 35years ago, Pink Floyd made Dark Side of the Moon 33 years ago, and it's been 26 years since Zeppelin broke up. Not to mention all the other bands from the same period that are still immensely popular. How many of today's bands will be discussed on this board 30 years from now? My guess is, come 2036, people will still be talking about Pink Floyd but few will remember Creed, Tool, etc. If they do, it will be like I remember Shaun Cassidy and the Bay City Rollers. Haha, goofy shit from when I was a kid.
