It probably has less to do with 'confidence' levels, and much more to do with living up to what you have accepted to be, what you 'think' you 'should' be, to others.Quote:

Just an observation,
yo sensi, used to have similar problems, very self conscious and always blushing when talking to people or strangers
then one day I asked myself do I ever remember anyone I talk to like 5 minutes afterwards. In the sense that even if that person was hideously ugly or amazingly attractive, do I really remember them from a small casual conversation that lasts 10 seconds. I thought about it and realized that I don't, and that most people probably don't remember me or analyze me as hard as I did.
After that ephiphany I just stopped caring about how I looked or what I said to people that much. Atleast, to the degree where I didn't blush or spend 10 minutes fixing my hair or checking myself out in the mirror. Anyway, I got over that real quick and it worked for me. Hope it helps.
Sensi,
Send along an e-mail and I'll chat with you about it when I have more time this weekend. The boards are not a good place to discuss such topics in detail.
Hot flushes? Its the menapause, run! aaaaaaah.
Only jokin, Working on your natural confidence should sort it.
I've become far more confident recently and my life is getting better and better because of it.
I know exactly what you mean. You always are worried about what other people think about you and stuff. I used to blush all the time. And then people are like "OMG he's redder than a tomato" and stuff like that which always makes it worse. I don't blush as much as i used to but i still blush every now and then. And yes i know it totally sucks.
I get really bad sweats :(
you should dress up like a hooker and stand on a local street corner. looking like that around people you are familiar with should make you more comfortable around people you don't know [/sarcasm]
the xanax idea might be decent, and they are fairly easy to get. ask the person you get your smoke from and see if they can hook you up. small ones shouldnt cost more then a couple bucks a pill, less if you buy in quantity. for a while i could get them $.30 each but i had to buy a hell of a lot of them
Damn, it works for me, my second day of work I went in with a buzz, and I fond me a dealer that day, someone I can party with, and at least one out of the 3 co workers to try and get with :D . Meh, you'll find what works, hey, maybe your thing is meditating and jazz fingers.Quote:

Luckily people just expect it from me now and poke fun at it (nicely.) And since they don't care about it (and thus, neither do I), it no longer happens when I'm talking to them. When I meet someone for the first time the cycle starts over though. :(
