An astronomy class is being held, and the teacher says "In 5 billion years the sun will expand to a size so big that all the inner planets will be sucked into it." A student starts panicking and yelling "OH MY GOD!" The teacher asks "Why are you freaking out? This is going to happen 5 billion years from now." So the student says "Ohhhh, I thought you said 5 MILLION years."
And as for those who think the world is going to end in the next decade, sorry guys, but the world has been around for 4.5 billion years. It's survived asteroids, comets, an impact with an object the size of Mars, cosmic radiation, just about everything the universe has been able to throw at it. You're not going to be part of the tiny blip in geological time when it ends.
