requiem for a dream and the basketball diaries are good movies.. not for the weak mind:)
Just a quick list of my favorites:
1. The Last Waltz (My favorite Scorsese film, quite depressing how polarizing this was for members of The Band)
2. Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai (why watch lucas' and Tarentio's films, when you can watch the original material they stole it from)
In Fact, while on Kurosawa, pick up both 3. Rashomon and 4. The Hidden Fortress as well
5. David Mamet's Glengarry, Glenross (hey its a good substitue for the live action preformance)
6. Dario Argento's Phenomena (or any of Argento's horror flicks)
7. Where the Buffalo Roam (Bill Murray is the Best Hunter S. Thompson [you hear me Jonny!])
Miike is better than Kurosawa :P
yes, god is that a good movie.Quote:

KIDS--A bleak and uncompromising look at the dangerous world of New York street kids. The film focuses on the sexual experiences of Telly, a teen-aged seducer who desires only virgins. When Jennie -- who's had sex solely with Telly -- tests HIV positive, she frantically searches the city to tell him he's infected. Eventually, she finds him, but too late, for he's already deflowered his latest adolescent conquest.
A group of street-tough Manhattan teens fight, party, take drugs, have sex and scoff at the consequences in this unflinching account of one day in their lives. Larry Clark's controversial, bleak portrait of societal decay originally garnered an NC-17 rating, which the filmmakers surrendered, opting instead to release the film unrated.
Rollercoaster--A bankrupt amusement park is the stage on which a group of troubled teenagers attempt to exorcise their inner demons. Fueled by drugs and alcohol, the five friends wander through the park in search of an escape from their deadened lives, whether through the lights and music of the carnival rides or the suicide pact that binds them together.
