slipknot, i question god's existence everyday. somedays i truly feel like it's all bullshit, but there are times where i get this feeling in my chest that's speaking to me. you don't think that those bible-thumpers, the constant reminder of god is all around you for a reason? those strange sermons on television that coincidentally seem like there targeting you?

what sorts of thiesms (sp? theism?) are y'al?

personally i see logic in omnitheism...

i personally like the idea of polytheism. the greeks and egyptians have always been my favorite to learn about.

no i never feel anything....i must confess i used to try to live my life as a christian, just because that seemed like what everyone else did. and i got tired of lying to myself, my family so i gave up...and from then on i promised myself i'd never lie to myself or someone else just because everyone else follows it. like i said..never once do i have doubt i'm wrong...i never think what if's or anything....i just absolutely do not believe....and as stated before when you keep hearing shit all your life it kinda tends to stick whether you liek it or not

i can't quite ignore, not becuase i want to believe...just because i have human decency and have to listen to people when they talk, even if i don't agree wtih it..it's just the respectful thing to do, and honestly i do not desire to dis-respect christians...it's just not my way..you have to give respect to get it and if everyone sat back saying "they don't get respect til they give it to me" then no one would have respect for anyone so i just start it. and i'm not quite sure what you meant by implore

but the way that sounds i don't do that either. and of course these messages are dirrected at "me". haven't you ever sat back and noticed that about 75% of these "messages" are dirrected at non-believers or people who believe but don't have faith. think about it, it's noting more than a mass marketing scheme and they are trying to "appeal" to a certain group of the public, in this case nonbelievers and people who don't have complete faith. the only reason i can't understand is why. the only theories i have is becasue it's so deeply imbedded into human insticint now because of the thousands of years people have "worshiped" a god. another is because people just can't deal without questions being unanswered (what drives science? people wanting to understand everything and the world around them) and because there was no simple explination of how we got here, so people invented god because it was just much simpler than admitting we can't know everything about the world around us. i don't believe, i don't doubt my beliefs (facing christianity and other gods), that is what i believe in my heart. the major problem i have with christians is most wiill not repsect that...i respect their beliefes (by keeping my thoughts to myself most of the time and not destroying their world as neither of us will win, i can point out a flaw in the bible or the theories propposed by the bible and they have an excuse and it can go on forever) but they keep pushing, wanting to convert me will not take no for an answer. another theory of mine is the bible and god was created in times of major troubles with humanity and crime and it was a fuckload harder to enforce laws back then because there was no real proof of anything anymore other than eye witnesses. so they implicated this magical book to put fear into people by saying that god was everywhere, and was watching and if you do something wrong you will suffer forever. and you can't tell me that doesn't make sense either...if you lay your christain/believing back ground down for 2 minutes you cannot seriously tell me that does not make sense. i don't have the answers, and i could be wrong..but atleast i admit it, instead of being hard headed and "knowing" i'm right or having to have an answer for everything. don't get me wrong, some of the ideas in the bible are good.. hell even most of the ten commandments could befinit society greatly if everyone actually followed them, but the satanic bible also makes alot of sense (sometimes even more so then the holy bible) and i'd actually suggest people that believe in god read it, not asking you to worship the devil and no where in the bible does it say it's against god's rules, personally i don't believe in him either. i believe in some type of power that is out of our comprehension lvl, because for the most part if you hurt someone, or wrong someone it ends up coming back to you. but it would be kind of hard to live your life (assuming you lived a full life) without being wronged atleast once, even if you everyone was perfect, wronged no one, there would still be injustices int he world and that makes me doubt what i even slightly believe in. but man made gods (chistian, buddah and all that crap) i will never believe in, becasue if there is a higher power, would mankind really be able to even begin to comprehend it? and if not, then how do we know how it works, how do we know what it does, how could our puney brains even begin to write a book about it? if there was something that could create the galaxy and solar systems and complex ceatures such as us, i'm 100% positive we could never understand it, therefore we woudln't know how it works, therefore we could have never wrote the bible..meaning everything is fake.

EUPHORIC, you crack me up, I didn't even know Zephaniah existed, so I looked it up.
It's funny because it says that story was written "sometime before 621 B.C.". I can picture the guy with his hair up in a "bone"-bun, and the writing slate.

THE BOOK, as it is the titled, also says, before 1:2-6, THE LORD gave these messages to Zephaniah when Josiah son of Amon was king of Judah, Zephaniah was the son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezekiah. Z 1:1.

What that means, I don't know... THE BOOK calls this passage "Coming Judgement against Judah". Was Judah a man or a land? A man with a land and a plan?
