Day 4 Update
Hello guys....
Here are my two fastest growers on Day 4. :D
Hello...
I'd like to get your input on my plants' growth.
First pic shows Day 4 and 5...
Second pic shows current setup. Fan is out of view, but it's placed correctly, thus there's no heat build-up in the bulbs or in the plants. Yes, the plants are fluttering lightly back and forth because of the slight wind.
Remember, these are going to be mother plants. I'll take clones from these, and 12/12 them to determine the sex... once I've got the females, then I take the clones from those to make the real grow. :)
So, what do you think?

looking good, stem is growing. keep up the good work. keep them lights close so it dont start to stretch too much.
keep us updated
Here's a pic of Day 6.
They had a 7 hour dark period today, because the power went out... Don't know if that helped.
:)
nice job its looking good so far the light is close enough now keep it there so they dont strech my first indoor grow i had the light 18 inches from the top of the soil and the plants sprouted so tall they just fell over and died so keep it close learn from ur mistakes write everything down it will help
HugeBuds,
Thanks for the tips... :)
Here you've got a couple of pictures. I have a temperature/humidity meter, which I'll use for the actual 12plant SCRoG... anyways, I placed the probe on top of the soil of the two fastest growers, and the temperature was very concerning.
I recorded a max temperature of 101.3 degrees Farenheit. After some alterations to the fan height/angle/speed setup, the temperature got to 94.6 degrees Farenheit.
101.3 F = 38.5 C
94.6 F = 34.8 C
Humidity, as you can see in the meter pic, is @ 77%. That's the ambient humidity,,, no humidifiers or de-humidifiers.
Anyway, tomorrow, I'm going to instal another fan, circulating air more directly to the plants. Hope that helps.
Ideas, suggestions? Thanks for the input,

Here are some pics from the girls...
You have a Day 6 & 7 comparison of the same plant. It grew much, much faster than the average growth from the other two plants.
This was probably due (please, give input) to the fact that they had a long 12 hours dark period. I guess it stretched. But I think that if I keep the lights 24/0 I can stop them from growing that fast.
I have to do some modifications today to the cooling fans, or else the plants are going to have to have another dark period tonight. And we don't want that... thus, to work!
Please provide input, if any. :)

Ok first of all your temps are a very big conern to me.. "photosynthesis is best performed in temps ranging from 74-78 degrees celcius" - Garden Knowm. THIS IS IMPERATIVE. 80 is OK... 90, pushing it... Anything above and your asking for hermaphodites. Those generic reading cfl's aren't going to cut it either, they are neither sufficient in lumens much less spectrum.. I would say definitely switch to your 400w Mh A.S.A.P. But keep in mind this is going to create even more heat problems.. your going to have to accomidate with an extra fan or two.. two if they're crappy one if it's decently powerful. Just position it to blow on the lights upward, to push the hot air up. Hope some of this helps..
Cheers :D
Whoa. That's 74-78 degrees farenheit :oQuote:
