I seem to do better at killing than growing - HELP PLEASE!

I realize I'm being impatient, and the answer is probably "Won't work!" but I have to ask...

What's your opinion on starting to cut the light back from 12/12, maybe 15 minutes ever few days, to attempt to encourage the plant to "hasten" the conversion from milky to amber trichomes?

It seems like I've been waiting FOREVER for these trichomes to make the change, and getting there is like pulling teeth. Has anyone tried this and if so, what were your results?

The impatience is motivated by the fact that "I'm out" and with Christmas looming, I have a choice of buying a bit of caninabis on the open market, or buying my daughter a Christmas present. You KNOW what my choice as a parent has to be... so I'm probably facing ANOTHER month of it being dry as a friggin' desert around here.:(

When checking trichomes, should I be looking at the sugar leaves near the top of the bud, or the bottom of the bud, or does it really matter?

I just grabbed a little piece of sugar leaf on the bud from about the top row of leaves and damned if the trichomes didn't look pretty much CLEAR, but on the leaf I looked at day before yesterday they were clearly showing amber. (which came from a lower row on another bud.

Someone with experience want to tell me what I am SUPPOSED to be doing. I can see I'm doing something wrong.


(And DP, don't tell me I should be medicating. I already know that. :) That's what I WANT to be doing!)

I have waited for 3 three weeks or longer for more, amber trichs to show up.

My last harvest went 14 weeks. Usually, I'm good at 11 or 12 weeks.
Even after 14 weeks; I had fewer amber than usual...and had to dry for 2 more weeks.

I run out of time at 14 weeks; the next generation plants needed to get in the flower room...

I can't tell you what to do....but, every time I have cut early? ..I have ruined a plant grow.

The wait is over. The harvest collected. They finished 'drying' yesterday and should go in glass jars to start 'curing' today. Total yield? I dunno.... One plant with 4 major colas it's still got to cure a bit before I can be really sure, but I'm guesstimating about 3 ounces dry weight once it's properly cured.

It's called perpetual harvesting. Sea of Green is done that way.
