I dont know what this has to do with what i quoted....or this thread but i just thought id let you know somthing..... :)
ok now to write somthing more on the topic of this thread.....but still not completly on track.....
how is the universe end?
i read into this and this is what im into.....
untill recently science people thought that there were two ways the universe would end.....either the universe woule become so dense that gravity (the most dominant force) would halt the expasion of the universe from the big bang, if this is the case we would experiance a "big crush" where everythin would be pulled back together
or
the expasion would carry on forever....
but then in 1998 astronomers discovered that the universe's expansion isnt if fact slowing down but rather speeding up! this would condem us to oblivion. however because no one actually knows what is causing the expansion to speed up. Astronomers have called this force "dark energy" which is still a complete mystery.
(btw i dont really know where this is going so if you are bored of reading id stop now.)
they think that in 6 billion years time the sun will have swolen up big enough to boil our oceans and possibly even swallow up the planet. The sun will then having used up all its nuclear fuel will shrink to about the size of earth leaving our planet if it still exists cold enough to be covered in nitrogen ice! BUT at least it will look pretty: gas blown into space will be energised by the ultraviolet rays from the now small sun...i think they are called white dwarves or somthing?....but the small sun will energise the gas making the earth be surrounded by a glowing multi coloured nebula.
Our galaxy is in for a rough time too...we are heading towards slightly larger spiral called Andromanda. It is thought that we could collide in as little as 3 billion years. If this hapened........................................... ............
do you guys want me to continue cause ive been writing this for about half an hour now and i was about to draw a diagram....but i cant really be arsed if no one can be arsed to read all this.....
do you want me to carry on? i probly will at some point even if you dont want me to.....maybe i should of made it into my own thread?? sorry :)
I dont think that 'space' can have an end, as (i think) what we call 'space' is just a void, an absence of anything..
Carry on az666. Like I said, the universe is one of my favorite subjects talk about.
Yeah, the sun will eventually become a white dwarve. But if the energy it holds ever goes unstable, the sun's remaining energy may become dark matter, and you know what that leads to:Quote:

But human existance will probably cease by than anyway. But when the sun weakens, I think we may slowly go into another "Ice Age" and then after that, the sun's gravitational fields will weaken, causing us to drift out of our orbit into deep black space. But I'm thinking that the coldness isn't what kills us, but the high speeds that will cause our atmosphere to simply blow off the Earth's surface, leaving us with the most powerfullest wind storms and no breathable oxygen.
What do you think will wipe out the world? Even scientists have said that it's not a case of if, it's a case of when. They reckon we'll be hit by a huge asteroid or something and we'll be wiped out like the dinosaurs. Or something will go wrong with the sun and we'll all be fried.
I was under the impression that it would take a sun 100 X the size of our own to summon the force capable of creating a black hole. This is what I was taught (please tell me if anything Im saying is incorrect, Im completely open to criticism), suns such as our (size), that use all their energy go through a stage of dieing where they expand (red wolf), the sun will expand to the point where it takes the orbits of mercury, venus and earth with it.Quote:

Suns about 10 X the size that start to die go may become a super nova and ultimately a pulsar (very fast spinning mass which magnifies weight to the point in which a feather would weigh a tonne, due to gravity).
And of course there are the super suns (100 X the size of our own) that have such a massive weight, when they collapse the energy is great enough to create a black hole. Apparently, scientists believe there are a few renegade black holes larger than anything we could even begin top comprehend getting around swallowing up entire galaxies, moving at speeds almost as fast as light.
Anyway, to the question at hand, I believe we still have a lot to learn and that there are a lot of things we arnt considering (involving our universe), we as humans have intelligence but Im sure there are boundaries as to what we can learn. Im sure there are things we cant see or comprehend that. As far as we know there could be forms of life from other planets flowing right through us, evolution (apparently) has made us the way we are so whats to stop another planet having some form of life that isnt what we interpret as physical. oops steered off a bit lol
Anyway, there are limitless possibilities to what is actually going on with our universe as a whole, we could all be way off but the universe isnt static and continually moving and changing so it wont be like this forever...
Sorry to double post but I forgot to add that when our sun does ultimately take the orbits of Mercury, Venus and Earth it will collapse creating a white dwarf then eventually burn out creating a black dwarf
The sun could never become a black hole, and dark matter is nothing to do with black holes, it is only theoretical for now. A black hole is simply a lump of extremely compressed matter.Quote:
