well its day 38 and things are not looking that great. Yesterday I noticed a majority of the pistils turned brownish color and the fan leaves are almost all entirely yellow. At first I was concerned about a nutrient problem but am not sure. Having no idea how long this strain flowers for has me taking into consideration that it might be harvest time soon. Looking at the trics I see some milky color to some.
Could it be:
Harvest- brown pistils, changing tricromes
Nitrogen or sulfur deficiency- Yellow fan leaves with purple stems and veins under the leafs, also curling downwards.
Or Transplant shock- Transplanted about 6 days ago, had to disturb some roots but not too badly
Any ideas as to what ails my plant?
Got to go:thumbsup:
Did you shut off some of the lights for a day or so after repot? If not, I'd go with after effects of root shock.
If the lighting was left the same as pre-repot, it is likely that the rate of photosynthesis outstripped the nutrients supplied by the root mass.
Thus, the plant resorts to cannabilising stored nutrients and you get left with lots of yellow leaves.
Nice scrog btw, hope she picks up for you.
sara lou :hippy:
Thanks for the advice. I didn't know that the plant basically eats itself. And no, I didn't turn out any of the lights. If I did it now would it make a difference? The plant seems to be doing well but no sign of improvement yet.
Any tips for a healthy recovery?
Thank you all!
BUMP! JD whats new with your lady friend? Haven't had any updates recently!! I want pics.
If it is root-shock --> Nitrogen deficiency, then you can expect the yellowed leaves to wither and die. This would have been more relevant a few days ago, but apart from a little seaweed extract, I'd just wait and see for a few days.
If she's still a problem, takes some pics, fill in a trouble shooting form and get some more opinions.
So now I am at day 44 with the plant, the buds are looking good, except they are not moist and supple as they once were, also I am noticing some milky white trics with my 60x scope. What to do now? Is the plant going to get more bud structure if it rebounds now or will it just finish out with the buds it already has? I will try to get some pictures soon.
wait till the trics become more brown\golden\yellow.. maybe 2 more weeks or more? =)
Hey jd, your grow looks so good it inspired me to try it on some of my stuff. Thanks for the info and pics......very helpful.
JD, you prob got like two weeks left or maybe even longer. The buds will get way bigger in the last couple weeks.
