That term is so overused and always one of the first things people associate with smoking pot in an almost stereotypical sense.
Weed doesn't make me any more hungry, it just makes the experience of eating something delicious more enjoyable due to the feeling of a heightened sense of taste. It's the same with listening to music, or watching something enthralling on TV.

I found that brushing your teeth or taking an antacid makes the munchies go away for a while. Or chewing a piece of gum works too.
You can't ignore your munchies forever, so eat healthier less fattening food ie: apples, oranges, carrots w/ mustard(YUM), celery, salads w/ oil, vinegar and salt as dressing.
Or just say fuck it, eat what you want and work out afterwards. If you're not motivated enough to go to the gym or whatever, then, well, lots and lots and LOTS of caffeine works too. Get NoDoze and chow those down. Just don't take more than like 4 of those a day as caffeine's LD50 dose for an average person is about 2000 mg's. I mean you could take like 10 of those NoDoz's but I wouldn't recommnd it.
God: I hope not!
"munchies" are one of the main reasons why I smoke in the first place! I've battled an eating disorder for most of my life and it's smoking with the consequential munchies that literally saved my life!!!!
but if you're trying to lose or maintain your weight, I'd suggest lowfat yogurt with Wheat Thins crackers. It's filling, yummy, and healthy. Also, if you munch on something like a bag of nuts or trail mix as opposed to potato chips (crisps) then you'll feel as though you've eaten more than you actually have, and it's chock fulla vitamins, too. Fresh fruit is always a good option, too. Any food that takes a while to eat, like shelling pistachio's or chopping an apple, will take away from the need to eat, eat, eat, and still put something in your belly. The trick is to take your time consuming it.
A large Slurpee and a long walk work wonders. Slurpee for the munchies, walk to stay away from the fridge. If you don't have time, the Slurpee is fine by itself. Sour Apple FTW!
I've been taking Balance The Herb for a few months now and it has totally killed the munchies....no red eyes also..
just don't eat, use your willpower..it's not any harder to not eat after smoking than it is to quit smoking cannabis..Quote:
