That wasn't wrong at all; the only reason she was upset was that she was FULLY aware that your sex life sucked but finding you snappin' one under the sheets was like an ACCUSATION that she wasn't making you happy any more. A couple with a healthy relationship would be fine with that situation, but since you WEREN'T having sex, of COURSE she was going to take it in an over-sensitive or insecure way.

The last guy I dated seriously told me straight up early in our relationship that he enjoyed sex but also enjoyed pleasing himself on the regular, and I was like, yo, cool, whatever- he travelled for work and the way I see it, that sure beats trying to catch some tail on the side, and anyway, our sex life was spectacular (as good as it could be living 1200 miles apart, lol), so he never left me with any doubts as to the strength of our mutual attraction.
