this is exactly what iv been looking for. this belongs in the grow FAQs. thanks again. BURN IT:hippy:
Are you using the Sea of Green technique on your plants or is it just one plant with many branches?
Story, great tutorial and great looking end product. I built a filter a while back and it did work very well for a few days, but then it stopped working.. Wasn't sure about the carbon quality really, I got it in a pet shop here in Ireland.
Just said activated carbon on the front and had hard little cylindrical pellets of carbon inside. Only about a pound in the pack like.Any ideas? I guess I'll just keep trying to find different brands..Anyone have similar experience?
Turns out Skunk #1 is one of the smelliest strains btw, should've checked first..lol.
Thanks
Edit- It was Supa brand carbon btw.
Worked like a charm for me! Filled it with fresh step kitty litter. Instead of using pantyhose over the outside layer I used the 1/8" thick carbon filter from Lowes.
any how 2's to build a reflector 4 a 400 mh ballast a buddy doesnt have much cash flow but can make it at work 4 free???
If i used the following in-line duct fan how would i safely do the wiring so i can plug it in like a normal US plug?
Amazon.com: 6-Inch 110VAC 250 CFM In-Line Duct Booster Fan: Electronics
I just have never wired a fan and im worried about fire hazards.
 just one question as im a noob. where does the filter go in relation to intake/outake/fan setup ?
After the filter. so the air is being pulled through.
Hey this looks awesome, I will try to build this. My question is about where and how to get the supplies. I'm good as far as the chicken wire, carbon, and panty hose (hehe) but I have no idea about the end caps, reducers, and screw clamps. Is this something where I could walk into my hardware store and say, hey I need a reducer, and they'd point me to the right product? It seems like you'd have to have more specifics but I have no idea what these things actually are. Thanks for any help, sorry if this sounds retarded...
You should be able to get all you need at a hardware store or lowes and home depot. And yes and they should point you in the right direction. Just ask for the parts as they are described.
ok thanks, yea i was able to google the end caps and reducers and find those online, but I couldn't find anything online similar to the screw clamp by googling 'screw clamp' or 'screw fastener.' Is there some other name these might be called by, just so I know better what to ask for? In my experience the people who work at my hardware store in town are usually pretty clueless about anything I might think to ask for, even with the right name! So something I don't know about seems pretty doubtful... Thanks again!
Your welcome. The clamps would be for ductwork. Like a vent hose. It can also be called a hose clamp. But that is for smaller sizes mostly. For these it should be called a duct clamp. Here's one, and they are a good place to buy from. Quick shipping too.
