the complex questions of a perplexed noob
You are too funny Brook and KP, LOL. 8 heads, sounds like an ancient mythological plant. I think it will be there around Mon or Tue. Remember I said that it is kind of ghetto, at least the person I got it from had it wired up so, but at the same time these things are rather bullet proof to a certain degree. I just don't want you changing your set up around only to find out that this thing wont turn over. Doubt that will be the case, but never the less, I would feel like SH-- if I put you in that predicament. So with that said, just play your hand accordingly.
Love you though, want to help out, and I hope that this does.

lol bear, we'll call this one the blueberry hydra! then we'll do a hydro gro and have hydra hydro:)
about the thingy... no worries on the ghettoism...i'm like mc'guiver's daughter:) i'll rig up n e thing:thumbsup: i'm all set to completly rewire if necessary. and it'll prob be necessary, bc of the distance from where the bulb will be and where the ballast will be. seriously thinking about double wiring. switch the ballast over to another room, and do two flowerboxes at one time (lights go off in one, they come on in the other:))
and if it doesnt' work when i fire it up, i'll take it apart and MAKE it work lol.
it's an mh ballast right? so bc it has an ignitor, you can use hps? just checking. trying to see if i need n e parts... let me know what you think about the alternating room relay...
to brooke, sorry hon, don't have a cam... if i did, i'd probably be famous.:) but, it looks like two of the heads aren't going to make it...:( they are sickly burnt looking, like they died and were reincarnated or something...) so we are down to a six headed monster.
i've got a dying clone... one looks like it deff won't make it. one of the newest ones. no biggie, the other 5 are doing great!
well, just thought id drop a line:)
love, kp:p
-
the complex questions of a perplexed noob
Yep, it is a MH ballast with a HPS igniter on it, but your MH bulb will lose some hours working with the igniter. Also, that link I posted on how to wire your ballast has instructions on a double room relay I believe. These things can get pretty hot, I am about to put a pan under the 400w because I have it going 24-7 right now and the thing is extremely hot to the touch.
Brook if you stop in here, miss you.

not trying to sound like a know it all, ladies, but wouldn't it be easier and probably cheaper to buy an HPS ballast and put a switch on the ignitor so you can put MH bulbs in it? just my .02 :)
-
the complex questions of a perplexed noob
She can still do that with the MH I believe, and that is a good idea. If I am wrong, feel free to correct me. Also, she is getting this one for free.

hi guys, thanx, i'm late, gotta go, love ya's
love, kp:p
-
the complex questions of a perplexed noob
if you get an MH ballast, it doesn't have an ignitor so you have to get the HPS ignitor and work it into the wiring and still switch it so it doesn't come on when you have a MH bulb in. that's what i've gathered from this forum.
-
the complex questions of a perplexed noob
if you go back a couple of posts, you'll see that this ballast has an ignitor wired into it already...
well... hey guys, did ya give up on me? been working for 16 hours straight. ne way, girls are good, i'm tired... luv ya:)

What would you like to know? Under 20 plants is a misdemeanor you can actually get a ticket. Same with 4 oz or less.
Fishing, skiing, hiking and hunting rules, many people still don't lock there car doors. 80% of the people that go to the hydro store are growers, have a friend in the know.
Anything else?

Oh, hmm, hmm ah chew!!! Well, I think that if you consult your Chrystal ball and lode up the old pipe and recruit your critical faculties and consult your oldest publication of The adventures of Sherlock Holmes you will come to the conclusion that the parties in question have very similar characteristics that can come to only one conclusion. If the Rooten thread is unraveled in the latter days of its major activity and the start of this thread is examined with a focus on dates comments and so on, you will find some striking facts, but I am not one to let the cat out of the bag.
Perhaps Brook and KP knew each other in another life time in the not to far distant past or something to that affect.

welllll.......
that's questionable. you see, this plant is the only one of eight that survived a spider mite infestation. there was an 8foot flourecent about 8 feet above her. she stretched until she fell over on the floor!
as a last ditch effort (and to make space) i put her outside and forgot about her for about two or three weeks.
i don't have a log, don't know when she started. if i try real hard, i might be able to figure it out. but i got this realy nice indica hybrid in my bubler, and concentration comes in spells:stoned::)

ok guys, i need some serious help here...
males are dropping pollen like crazy... i pollenated one of sage's clones right next to them, proceded to take a shower, throw clothes in laundry... how long until i can mist this one and put it in the flower box? i want the pollen to do it's thing, but i don't want to contaminate the rest.
please hurry!!!
love, brooke
-
the complex questions of a perplexed noob
I would give it a few days to put in the flower box and then when you do, put it down wind from the others. I would wait about 24 hours to mist. I am not sure how pollen takes to plants in veg. Have you thought about pollinating one of the buds on the other plants? If so, take some pollen and brush it on a bud that has a couple weeks or more left then put suran rap around it for about 48 hours, again if you do this as well, place that side of the plant down wind.
Hope this helps some.

the complex questions of a perplexed noob
ok, i know you told me bear, but how long can you store pollen in the freezer? i may experiment with this clone, to keep the rest safe, then later take a few of my new hybrids, a few originals, and a few bb's and build a seed box. do you know how a plant reacts to being switched from a reversed light cycle to normal? should i go 24 hours dark or light, common sense says dark.
how long is pollen viable in open air? i know you have to freez it to store it.
collecting lots of pollen though...
love, brooke
-
the complex questions of a perplexed noob
I believe it can be stored up to a year, if not longer. I think that just sitting out, hmm at least a week I expect. Remember when storing, keep it dry.
As far as the light cycle, what cycle are they on now? If you mean from flower to veg, they will get stressed and take a good minute to get back into the veg cycle, but I am not sure if that is what you are asking.
So is that bird going to be allright?

hi bear, haven't even started prepping the turkey yet, let you know tonite.
this clone is rooted, been in flower for a couple of weeks.
i have not put it back with the others bc of the pollen. if i have to lose this one... oh well, i don't want to pollenate my bb's.
gk, thanks for the article, but i think it's too early... i cant even read it right now, lol:)
should i mist and return to the box? scrap? or go in with sage? sage is almost done...

Hey Fog, not Frog IMO. Hey little lady, glad all is going allright. Wonder if I will get any bluebarry beans for Christmas???
Well glad you got your early present. On my end everything is doing all right. Had the new room going for about a week, only have about 12 in there so I only have 1K going will put in the other in in about 2 weeks. Temps are fine, as a matter of fact I have no out take and need a heater with the light out, but I can get it up into the 80's when my active intake is off. If I have the intake on the temps drop down to the low 60's. I think the extra 1K will balance things out. Think I will fill the CO2 tank tomorrow.
Also I am thinking about getting a 3x3 ebb and flow table for future use. A 3x3 would go good under that light you have. I just read a thred over at IC mag about a fellow who pulled almost a pound with 400w and CO2, but he has some skills to break the 1 G per watt thinggy. He also pulled 3.5 LB with a 1K on a light mover, must be nice.
Well adieu for now.
