I Personally know of someone that had ALL 45 plants stolen. HE WAS PISSED. Rightfully so. If I ran across it in the wild if it was vegg'in i would take a couple clones and leave in peace.
If It was flowering I would memoerize the spot and come back in mid oct for a free harvest. If it were somenes private operation I would take a pinch, Not all of it , but leave my mark to let him/her know that he/she needs to be more careful and find a better spot.

How do you know that when you are ripping somebody off that they are not watching you from afar? There are digital cameras left in the woods these days to record who comes and goes. A ripper could lead a psycho right back to their innocent family. Not everyone is laid back.

stumped is the only way to handle a ripper he will live and tell others what happened and no one will screw with your crop ever again. Sometimes we can learn from lowering ourselves to their level just once.

if you have ever had your crop stolen you know the pain, so why pass that pain on to someone else.

I know a kid who stole a whole farm (0ver 100 plants) from someone.. He got caught by the cops selling it a few weeks later. Its called Karma. Out here (hawaii) they say if you see it, then at that same time someone sees you. Get the fuck out of there ASAP. Dont even stop to smell it. Just go home and stay there. And cross that trail off your hiking list.
Start a clone, and grow your own! :D Might be a hella dank plant, and yours could turn out better :P
yeah i would leave a note recommending they conceal there plants a bit more, i mean if i saw it, chances are a few other people will who might report it to the police and as turbojoe said i would have to compliment there grow in some way
oh and shit taking a cutting for clones is a good idea would include that in the note as well

If I found a plant in the wild and it's a blooming girl, or just a very healthy looking one vegging, i'd just take a couple cuttings to clone and be on my way. doesn't damage the plant itself really(i guess other than the stuff she woulda got from the leaves.) never take bud from someone elses plant without their consent....:thumbsup::jointsmile::hippy:
you are taking bud by taking clones from a plant... as bud sites would come from the parts you cut off.
I once heard of booby traps found at a grow site that "only a Nam' Vet' would know how to make." They were basically shotgun shells pointed at kneecap level. Ouch!
A friend once went to visit his grow spot, got there only find some dude in full camo with a bow fully drawn at him. Dont' fuck with hunters.
this is true... i know of somebody that was growing outdoors on his own property and found others snooping around his grow sites... he yelled out into the bush that he was going back to the house to get his shotgun and that he suggested they leave the area immediately. needless to say... they were long gone very quickly.Quote:

Im new to growing. About 3 years worth. But every night i go to bed im thinking some asshole will take them. And the thing is, there a mess right now. But when iv fixed the problem il have fishing line tide to cans that would wake the dead!

Well, forgive me if I come off too frank here but most of you seemingly well meaning would be clone takers are forgetting how absolutely f*cked you will be if you get caught with them on the way home...assuming it's not from a plant behind your house there are obviously some seriously logistical issues with just "taking clones" from plants you find. You risk getting busted for their grow in the process by just being there in addition to your house/apt getting raided because if you are caught anywhere with live plants or clones even if it's in the middle of the woods trust me they are coming in your house and you are getting investigated.
Next, to all the wannabe Rambo's out there touting the booby traps and make-shift shotgun rigs..this is a really really really big no-no no matter what. You might get a slap on the wrist best case scenario for a few outdoor plants but once you involve booby traps and weapons we are talking best case scenario you only do the next 10 - 20 years in a federal prison. It's one thing to grow a few pot plants but you NEVER EVER EVER risk human life over it. If a police officer or other human being were to get hurt or God forbid KILLED by your dangerous theft deterent system and they find you..you are soooooooooooooooo absolutely toast. (they most likely will because you would'nt know about it until they busted your ass and threw away the key)
In closing, don't steal because you REALLY don't know who is watching....
Stealing is wrong and karma is very very very real trust me on that one.
Don't EVER go near or touch plants or clone them for that matter because your good green thumb intentions could also be mistaken as you stealing the plant by the owner and you might get your brains blown out or worse.
Don't EVER set booby traps or risk human life or safety because this is really really asking for trouble and possibly the rest of your life in prison, plus it gives all pot growers a bad name and we already have enough BS to deal with. If there is a trap or deadly device set by you there are a million and one things that could go wrong like maybe a kid finding your plants and not knowing better and you come to find a dead or severely wounded young child at your grow next time you visit..or see it on the news. Then what the hell do you do? And for some *strange* reason booby traps always seem to backfire somehow, it's just Murphy's law...if it can go wrong, it will whenever something as evil & negative as a booby trap is involved.
YOU are 100% responsible for whatever harm is done by the booby trap PLUS it's a deadly weapon in conjunction with an already existing felony for cultivation..very bad equation in the eyes of the law. And don't think you won't get caught if someone get's hurt or killed because you WILL, they will be sure of that even if it means scraping your DNA off every piece of evidence in the area and most likely video or even satellite's will be used to catch you. Why? Because you don't usually ever know it's gone bad until AFTER the fact. So be safe, sleep good at night..and NO "booby" traps ever..unless they are to catch stinky's sexy ripe perfect boobs hehehe :D
Now go grow your own & make sure you have multiple patches as back-ups!
If things are meant to grow well, they will. If not, then it just is'nt in the cards this time around..but, there can always be a next time if you do the right thing!

harming a person over weed = very stupid and desperate
Planting in a well traveled area = stupid
Maybe if your plants are taken all the blame should not be placed on the culprit but rather the grower for putting them somewhere so easily found.
I would just leave them they way that I found them its someone elses work.
If you find reason that there abandoned and not being taking carw of, then by all means do what you got to do.

Theft from an individual is wrong but as far as wal mart or any other large corp take it all they are the prime example of greed and everything that is going wrong in this economy.
Ethically it is never right to steal from anyone regardless if what they are doing is illegal. Recently a person i thought was a friend broke into my pad and stole my christmas crop, that i was banking on. I found where he was and he told me he did it because it was christmas and he needed the loot. Yeah who doesn't need the loot 4 any reason, i can think of milions. I didn't fight w/the guy because that would have done nothing the shit was gone. I couldn't get anything back what a shame. This guy who did this is obviously a scum-bag. He doesn't have shit and will never be shit. I'm not saying this just because he ripped me off but he has ripped off mutual friends for things and no one coud ever prove it. People give people the benefit of the doubt and i've seen it bite them in the ass more times than not. I caught the bastard the next day, the great case of the cannabis caper was solved and I got some closure for myself and my friends, I hope. My point is that this guy has a shitty life and always will. He will bring upon him more wrath then i could deliver to him, by continuing to be a scum-bag. I'm sure to this day that i will never see him again. It was a little cost to get rid of such a scum-bag but well worth it.
It takes a lot of integrity to leave someone's growing crop alone. Let alone a field of it.. stay true to honesty and in return karma will be good to you..
If you happen upon an outdoor grow-op I would get the fuck out of there ASAP. You never know who is running it and what they may do to protect their crop and location. I.E. Killing your ass so you cant tell anyone.
to plant weed where it would be found hiking then it would deserve to be stolen. i would take it before the next stoner comes runnin along and snags it up, or even worse a fuck FDA or Cop finds it and kills it all together... in other words, yes, if someone were dumb enough to plant weed where people will find it then it is their own stupidity to blame.:rasta:

i'll pipe in here since being a former USFS empoyee in my younger days and being a supervisor of maintaining the Pacific Crest Trail in the Shasta-Trinity National Forests...1 when out i never had my uniform shirt on..always changed to some sort of t-shirt with heavy metal bands in it. 2. if i smelled it i noted the area and stayed the fuck away 3. never told a sould about it 4. never steal someones work..you never know what they will do to protect it. Even though you are in the great outdoors how would you feel if someone came barging into your home...you would protect it. My life is worth far more than what i cuold drag away...so jacking it never crossed my mind!:smokin:
