I love Runty! If there was one I'd let grow Mand it would be her. You owe it to her!
Hello Dave :), "old fat horny housewifes" you know that just reminds me of a woman at work. She's left now but everyone used to call her "The Water Buffalo", why? .............. well she was quite large but she used to have a multiple chin, not double or triple but a real humungus wobbly one, that used to jiggle about when she walked :o.
Anyway she was always going on about how her posttie used to fancy her and was always trying to "chat her up" ...................... but like everyone said "she had a pretty active imagination ;).
Hello Marc :), Well "Runty" is the only one that hasn't been "pinched", I didn't want too stunt her growth anymore :o .
Tell you what though Marc, I am a little bit concerned at having so few plants in there, normally I have twice the amount............................ but then again I suppose there will be more light to go around ;) .
I'll just post a pic of "Runty" in her new elevated position :)
love mand xxx:)
She looks better already Mand!! She looks like the Queen! Sitting upon her throne!
WOW Mand they look really good. How tall are they now?
Hello Marc :), I'm trying with her ................. honest ;)
Having to resist the temptation of starting flowering though. I really would like to give them a few more weeks at least :o
Hello Buk :) , I'm not sure exactely, I would say they are between 12 - 15 inches. I am trying to wait untill the smallest one gets to about 18 inches before inducing............... well apart from "runty" shes just going to have to go along with the others.
Although I do think they look a little "sparce" due to them having nodes cut off the other week:o
love mand xxx :)
wooooowww mand very pretty....almost as pretty as you :D
but they look like they are doin extremely well. I bet they smell so good. You should trap me some of that air in a jar and send it to the states so i can be as lucky as you.lol
much love..........nasty
Hello Hungry, and thankyou :)
I mentioned this before on another thread, quite a while ago though. I have no sense of smell whatsoever, never ever had any at all. So I honestly have no idea what cannabis smells like, I can kinda taste it in the air in the growroom when the plants are in full bud though.
According to my kids, they say it smell's like a cats been in the house and poo'ed the morning after I have had a smoke :o.
They would say that because they would really like to see me pack in smoking it :( , but after 26 years they have no chance ;)
love mand xxx:)
Hello :).
Following on from when the plants were pinched/topped the other day, I'd just like to add a few pics concerning the pinching.
These were taken this morning and show the new growth from the shoots ethier side of the "pinch".
The question of where to pinch often arises on here, so this is my way of doing it :) .
love mand xxx:)
Mand...I just wanted to say that I'm totally...in love with you.
Hello Marc :) , hmmm is that because of my dazzling personalty, stunning good looks or my persisitant growing :o .
Only kidding love ;).
Affraid I can't write to much of a reply at this time, I'm busy babysitting, at the moment I have him sitting on the sofa watching "Charlie And The Chocolate Factory".
Tell you what though Marc, something I have noticed on here just lately, I'm finding it so difficult to reply to many of the threads. It's all getting really too technical for me :o . As you know being technical doesn't really hold much intrest for me, I even threw the thermometer out because it was just another thing I can do without ............................. keeping it simple is best in my book ;)
Bye for the moment ................................... love mand xxx :)
I'm sure you'll do well, you certainly have enough experience. I remember when I first joined you were so understanding when my first grow went to seed from hermies. You really helped me with your encouragement as I had spent 7 months only to come up with poor grade herb.
I send you all the good karma I've had in the last two grows.
THANK YOU!
The first one is the most important then the second one doesn't hurt! You're new avatar is great! Why don't you e-mail a larger version of that to my e-mail address. Please? :dance:Quote:

Hello LV :).
That's just how it goes, somtimes they just grow and never need any interference and yet other times they just seem to want to be awkward.
I know how it feels when you put time and effort into to them and at the end the results are not what we wanted them to be :( .
I have to say though Lv, I think you have it all "sussed out" now though.
Thankyou :)
Hello Marc :) , If I had a larger copy I would post it, but I'm affraid I always shrink them for avatars.
I only use the digital camera for pics that aren't important, that I'm not going to keep. I did try to take photo's with it but when I tried to print them off, the results were very poor because the printer is just a cheapy that came with the computer. So I still use a disposable camera for anything of value.
Plus I am prehaps one of the most least technically minded people there is :o ..
I'll sort out some though and post a few ;) .
Having said that though Marc, I may not be technically minded but I do have a good head for spotting the bargains ..................... the ones to make money on ;). The reason for this is I have quite simply had to have, otherwise I would have had to get by on the welfare state over the years.
Even now I still like to "keep my hand in". I was at a charity auction a few weeks ago and spotted a Nepoleon Hat clock, dating early 1920's, with a lovely Westminster chime. Well I paid £30 for it and I know that if I put into auction at one of the general sales it should fetch around the £150 mark :) .
So I suppose what we lack in one area, we make up for in others ;)
Update ................... Well they are five weeks and one day old now, and I am very tempted to start the flowering, simply beacause they are going quite well and look about ready. However I'm trying to give them a little longer ........................ to be honest I'm not sure what to do just yet :o
love mand xxx :)
If you flower now those top four branches should be the main colas.
If you wait a couple more days they will be more then ready.
Hello Jdog :) , yes I agree with that ;) .
Just been looking at them again and I think prehaps another week +/- and then start ;)
love mand xxx :)
Hey Mand, They say that as soon as the plant shows alternating nodes that it's mature and ready to flower. You should wait till then. Don't know if piching them off has an effect on alternating nodes happening but I would think it would. Make it take longer? Anyone know?
I have agree with Nasty, and Marc, both you and your ladies are looking quite lovely Mand.
Damn!, a beautiful woman growing stunning plants... match made in heaven
Nice grow!
:( Hello and thankyou guys :).
Well I know I said on a post yesterday that I was going to wait another week before switching to 12/12 and the HPS ................ well I changed my mind and tonight I reduced the hours and put the HPS bulb in :o .
Now Marc, don't worry, just have a little faith in me, I really do know what I'm doing ..................... honest ;) . The thing is I have bought everything forward partly due to the bud situation but also due to the fact that the plants look ready.
Normally I always think that a photo of the grow makes the plants look a little better than they actually are. However with this grow the pics dont do them justice. Even though there seems to be no conformity in the leaves, I like these plants :) . Within five weeks and a few problems they have grown better than I have seen in a long time and with inducing at their present stage I am hoping to get the idea height when it comes to harvesting.
Also I spotted preflowers today, two females and one male, whilst still on there vegitive growth.
I've never started flowering as soon as five weeks before, but I am hopefull they will be fine :o .
Oh, and if they start "drooping" like the last two grows have when switching to HPS and 12/12, then they can just "droop". I am sticking with the HPS because using the MH last time cost a good weight in buds :( .
Thankyou, I really do appreciate the kind comments :)
love mand xxx :)
Excellent grow journal. nice pics and an overall nice job.
Congrats

:p
Hello Emerica :) Thankyou ;).
I do try to do a journal that shows and describes as much of the grow as possible ................... the good bits and the bad bits as well :o
Hello Rekap :) . How are you ? ..................... Well I hope :)
Update ........................ Well I have noticed three plants with female preflowers and two with male preflowers. I have been trying to get pics of these for what seems like ages but in the end I only have one pic that can be recongised as having female preflowers ................ I was starting to get quite fed up with the camera :o.
Anyway the first pic is the one showing the preflowers on and the rest are just general pics showing the plants on day one of the 12/12 cycle.
love mand xxx :)
looking good mand
Hey there, Mand. How's it going? I see you changed your avatar -- a true radiance of beauty! :)
I haven't been watching this journal as much as I should have! But I'm glad I managed to catch it before you progressed too far, and I must say I like where it's headed.
Have you any plans for the males -- possibly as studs for a few dozen seeds? Although I have a feeling you may not have much use for seeded females when you're looking for something to smoke, which is understandable. I know if I wanted weed full of seeds I'd buy a fifty sack from my dealer. LoL.
I love how the pinching turned out, by the way. Great job on that.
The drooping you mentioned in the last post is quite depressing to me -- not your plants, my own. When I went from high kelvin light to lower kelvin light, the leaves drooped. But no worries -- the plants benefit greatly from the HPS during flowering, and I'm sure, despite the drooping, that the plants are happy.
Keep up with the good work, Mand. Many blessings.
Hey,lookin good!
I topped mine and flowered at about the same time as you. I have a bunch of 2 headed monsters and a few bushes. Depending on the strain. But most just grew twice as tall from the split and grew 2-4 big tops .It worked really well for the indica dominant strains that didn't branch out. Because they would end up with up to four tops instead of 1. But make sure you stake them up if they need it. Because they will be top heavy.
Hello britewire :) Thankyou ;).
I'm affraid once I start doing a journal I have to always find time to write replies and do a little update ...................... well it gives me an excuse to just "put my feet" up for a while ;)
Hello Kush :).
I'm affraid I just bin the males once I am sure of their gender. I do sometimes think about trying to make a little Hash Oil out of them, but to be honest I just never seem to get around to it :o.
The "Pinching". I would have liked to have done a few pinches, but the current bud situation has kinda "forced my hand a little", so I decided to start flowering. Also it should give me time to do two Summer crops by starting them now .............. if everything goes ok that is :o.
Oh the "drooping" :(. Well I have had them drooping on the last two grows and I honestly have no idea why they did it. So I'm just hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen with this lot ................. and if it does I'm hoping it isn't too bad :o.
Oh and the avatar Kush, like I always tell people, it's all slap and light :o.
Hello Jdog :) To be honest I don't think they will need support, it would be nice if they did ;).
It's like I always say Jdog, I am usually good at growing leaves, but not so hot at growing large quantities of buds :o.
Anyway I am keeping my fingers and everything else crossed that this crop does ok. I could really do with a decent one, beecause the last one had to be abandoned and the one before that was a little dissapointing in terms of bud quantity.
Update .................... Well I have been trying to get pics of the preflowers again, took dozens of them and not one of them turned out any good. They were all blurry and pretty naff:( .
The two pics here are first a general veiw of what it looks like in the growroom at present. The second is a comparison of "little runty" and one of her sisters. I say sister because she is showing female preflowers ;).
Thankyou very much guys .............................. love mand xxx :)
When you post some update pictures, could you tell us howlong they're on 12/12? It saves me a lot of time calculating and reading back in the thread.
Hello again britewire :), Oh dear I had to smile when I read you're post because that's how I normally have to work it out myself :o.
I do forget and loose track of time when growing :o.
Of course I will love :), I am really trying to remember with this grow ..................... and they have been growing five weeks and four days, and flowering for two days now.
Mind you one thing I can promise, that I will have to come back to this post in the future and try and work it out for future posts :o.
love mand xxx :)
Why are you vegging so long? I bet you can have a better overall yield when you use a 2 or 3 week veg and then flower
here's an example of a 2 week veg.

Mand Mand mand. youve done it again your plants are looking real sweet just like you(lol had to get that in)so you are in flower .They have come on real good since that little rust prob.Dont know how you do it.The postman.

I'm affraid mine would never be mature enough to start flowering at two weeks, to be honest starting this lot at five weeks is the earliest I have ever started flowering.
Hello Dave :). Hmmm the rust problem:(. It seems to me that there is something wrong with the compost heap, so when the weather becomes drier, I'll have to see about getting it cleared and starting a new one.
It's a shame really I've had that heap there for quite a few years and never had any problems before ................ Ah well never mind :o
Hello busteruk :). I like to just keep the growing very simple, I really have no intrest in anything technical or complicated.
Also I don't like to interfere with then too much, I'm quite happy just to go in there now and again and just sprinkle a bit of water on them. It's just when I get any problems, then I start thinking "it's just too much hassel":o .
Hello Rekap :).Oh dear "moving", I absolutely hate moving. I did so much moving houses when I was married .................... but that really is a different story, makes me "shudder" to even think about it :o.
Anyway Rekap, I hope you're moving somewhere nice, with plenty of room for a new growroom ;).
Anyway the plants will be six weeks old tomorrow and there on the fourth day of flowering. I didn't go into the growroom yesterday, I was busy doing little jobs around the house. However I took a pic this morning although nothing has changed yet.
There is some activity on the flowering front, I spotted a few potental males and also a few females but not sure yet what the final score will be ????
love mand xxx :)
Looking good Mand! :)
Sorry I'm always forgetting that you start counting the days growing from seed. I have the luxury to grow from clone, so it's not quite accurate. Next grow I'm starting are 9 Jock Horror in Scrogg from seed. I'll have too see howlong it takes untill I find them large enough for flowering.Quote:
Hello britewire . They are quite amazing plants, a very nice grow indeed.

Hello turtle :). Well I've been looking at you're new grow thread love and what can I say ............... blimey, you've really gone well over my head, I'm totally lost :o.
Although having said that, I must say it's so really good to someone who enjoy's all the technical side of growing.
Keep up the good work Turtle love and I'll try and follow what you're doing in my own way :).
Hello britewire :), Ah yes "cloning". I've never tried it with cannabis plants but I have done with house plants in the past.
What I really like about it, is that you know what you're getting, the quality of the mother plant and females:).
Once again britewire, you're doing a very impressive grow, lovely looking plants ;).
I'll just add a little update on the grow ............................ Well just before the light went out this evening I went in the growroom and had a pretty good check over them.
Anyway out of the nine plants, one is definetely male, six are showing female pitsels and two others including the runt are not showing anything yet.
One thing I am quite pleased about is that the one male is my least favourite plant, there is something about it it that doesn't quite match up to the others.
At the end of the day if I end up with six females out of nine plants, then I'll be happy with that :)
love mand xxx :)
Ahh shucks..Quote:
Once again britewire, you're doing a very impressive grow, lovely looking plants .
If you want some help or info bout making clones just ask.
Well Mand, you've definitely done well for yourself with this grow so far. :)
Six females isn't bad, and you could potentially have two others. I'm still hoping the runt turns out a female so it can out yield it's sisters.
Although, if it's a male it wouldn't be all bad -- you could preserve it's short stature phenotype by selectively pollinating a small bud on one of the equally dwarfed females, or one exhibiting high yield. You'd have better chances at scoring plants with short genetics for the next grow in that event.
Anyway. Keep up the good work and don't stop doing what you're doing. :D
Hello britewire :) , If ever I clone I'll be sure to ask ;) ...................... Thanks :) .
Hello Kush :) Hmmm I just called on to do an update on the flowering situation. To be honest there aren't enough hours in the day just lately, so I haven't had much time for the plants, just a quick check once a day.
Well in the last post I said there were six females, anyway one of those with female preflowers devolped into a male. Also there was one other male as well.
So now in total there are I believe six females including the runt.
I've had to check and work this out, they are six weeks and four days old and one week and 4 days into flowering ........................ I think :o.
love mand xxx :)
Busy life, eh? I know the feeling -- that there aren't enough hours in a day to find the time to do various other things, cannabis related and otherwise. I like to think that when I'm much older, and retired from any work, that I'll have the time to do these sort of things on an almost full time schedule.
So, it turned hermaphrodite on you, or the 'balls' you saw resembled female preflowers but as they filled out they became more recognizable? Whatever the case, I'm sorry. :(
At least you've got the others. And the runt; she'll do nicely. Still hoping to see her out yield the larger plants, though!
Keep on growing on, Mand. And Hay-Sues Bless.
