I didn't watch the full video. It is hard to watch these animals be abused the way they are, and I'm a hypocrit because I love meat, I admit it.

I use to work in a pig slaughtering house. The things I saw in that video here, getting their throat cut while upside down, IS NOT SOMETHING THAT GOES ON IN EVERY PLANT. Not every plant is cruel and brutal that way. The one I worked at, we never abused the pigs, like hit them, EVER! You can't do that otherwise the meat gets bruised and is unedable. They had a machine where the pigs went into, no windows or something, a dark boix, and an electrode goes into their throat shutting off their brain, painless (so they say). That's what most plants are. They are up to code and clean.

But still, the ones that get away with it, is awful, but I love meat, I LOVE IT.

Well, of course we have evolved to eat meat and thus it is perfectly natural for us to eat meat. You can argue that we have the ability to "rise above" our evolutionary programming to not eat meat, but that's a decision each individual has to make for himself. If it makes you feel better about yourself, don't eat meat. There won't be any divine reward for the decision, but you'll feel better. I DO eat meat, but not often, several times a year, but it's never store-bought, because I don't want to contribute to an industry that tortures animals for money. You see, I'm all for the hunter who kills his own animals to feed himself and his family - in other words, those who don't do it just for sport, to hang trophies on their walls, or just because they get off on killing things.

I HATE what the meat industries do to the animals. It IS cruel and inhumane, and the people involved in such practices should be ashamed of themselves. In fact, I'm convinced that much of the cruelty you see on the part of workers in that video is in direct proportion to the guilt most of them feel - or at least ONCE felt - deep down. They can't do what they do if they allow themselves to feel any compassion for the beasts they kill, so they treat them as objects instead, things without feeling, and it's that distancing of themselves from what they do that allows those people to live with themselves.

that doesn't make the point irrelevant at all. it takes more "harvested shit" to feed one cow than the amount of beef that will be eaten by people. if everybody didn't eat meat, we'd save more because much more wheat would be spent on feeding cattle than feeding us. that's about as clear as I can make it.

If we're given the option to eat what we want, be it vegetables or chicken, why can't we make a choice to smoke what we want, be it cigarettes or merry wanna.

i completly agree...i have nothing against people eating meat...its the fact that buying already packaged/processed meat is almost supporting treating animals like the ones in the video.

I have seen so many different videos like that before....I saw one about fur that was equally saddening, but this one I only watched up to the cattle....near halfway through.......and it is fucking disgusting treating animals like that....puts mankind to shame....

as I have said before i can deal with human death/murder but murdering animals and cruelty to animals is something i cannot deal with....it makes me insanly angry....and sad.

Buying packaged meat is fine in my oppinion. It's the people that eat meat but say hunting is cruel, and they would never gut the animal, or do the dirty work. They are the ones that are retards. If you can't kill animals hunting, then don't eat meat.

what i meant was pretty much what you said.....i have nothing against eating meat....absolutly nothing against it......however!...eating packaged meat that has come from animals that have been mistreated/tortured/left to die slowly by humansthat just want to make a profit out of it is not the way to go......

There are 3 main reasons to be a vegan- specific health benefits, religious purposes, and thinking that you're so much better than everyone else because eating one kind of organism instead of both somehow makes the world better. Because it seems that only one side is actually citing any information, I'm gonna let your side prove something.
My belief is that because it takes more plants to satisfy a human, we would need roughly the same amount of shit harvested if everyone were veggies than what we are right now. I believe that being vegetarian would either do nothing or even raise the amount of shit harvested, and if that's true, being vegetarian does nothing to prevent animal cruelty, as the cruelty involved in harvesting is wore than the cruelty in slaughterhouses.

You believe that if we were all vegans, we'd need to grow less crops. I want to see a link to an actual study. If you provide that, I'll stop making that point.

yea i get your point...i just dont think animal cruelty is right......imagine if for some reason packaged meat suddenly stopped being produced....lmao....like worldwide...no sausage, chops, burgers, steak.....UNLESS you hunted the cow....(which wouldnt actually be that hard come to think of it)....and skinned, gutted, beheaded it, cut the different parts of meat out.....thats how i would prefere to live if it stopped slughterhouses mistreating animals....

.....however saying that i saw a programme called tribe the other night and this dude went deeeeep into some forest and met with this tribe, and he lived with them for a little while......this tribe in one of their religious ceremonies hung a cow...like rope round a cows neck and raised off the ground (they did eat it btw)......not as harsh as cutting a bull's bals off, with what looks like scissors though. but if that was in a western country they would be stopped imediatly for causing undue stress and pain to an animal...

i will not watch the video because it will break my heart. im not much of a meat person, but i do love veggies and fruit and one day mayb will limit myself from all meat, try tellin my cook that though, lol

You're assuming that the food going to cows would instead go to humans. Try looking up what cows eat and tell me if you'd enjoy it. Animals can eat things that we can't. The things that animals eat often grow in places that our plant food cannot be grown. The point is unsubstantiated.

well if we all stopped eating meat there would be no maret for meat so that means there would be no farms and the animals would never be treated that way...

Humans are part carnivore and part herbivore. To say humans shouldn't eat meat is stupid. Our bodies are designed to eat meat. We have specially designed teeth to eat meat just like other meat eating animals. Yes, animals in these major meat processing plants are being treated poorly and I would also like to see these conditions for them improve. But lets be honest here, do you think the people who buy meat are willing to pay the extra costs for these conditions to improve for animals who are going to meet their demise anyway? No. The general public does not want to burden the extra cost, which is exactly what will happen.

I'm not using that as a means of justification for treating animals the way they do, it is just the facts.

BTW, I grew up on a farm in Iowa that raised pigs. I thought their conditions on our farm were pretty good considering how much money we were spending on the buildings to house them.

Personally, this little narration is making me laugh and I still LOVE meat. I really don't care how the animals are treated personally, their not mine. I didn't buy them to feed them to sell them and make cash. I just want the end product, steak, pork, chicken legs and thighs.

The reason I put it in MY mouth is because I know I cook it correctly and have never been ill from eating meat. If it tastes good, eat it I say.

I've heard weir things about PETA. I heard that they illegally euthanise animals sometimes due to lack of funds. Maybe those dead puppies were the ones they didn't have money to protect.
