Day 15 update.
Good growth HD! Intersting how light green some of them are. What do you think the brown areas on that front plant is caused by?
Looking really like a sea of green now :D
Really like the differences in brightness of the leaves
Less than a week to go now b4 flower - they're gonna be a good size by then :D
A lot of my leaves are burned by the pH adjusted water.Quote:

Becasue I chose the small bottle, the plant literaly was soaked with water until the water was absorbed by the soil.
Now that the plant is growing, the lower veg is raising itself above the container rim and now we are seeing the results of leaves sitting in water for just a tad bit too long.
This is normal and while not preferred, totally expected. These leaves will be amongst the first to die so no biggie as far as I am concerned.
The light colored leaves are from plants that are BlueBerry strains. They smell very pungent.
I need some two liter bottles badly. I am afraid some will be root bound in 48 hours.
If i cant find them for overnight delivery today, I'll go buy them today and start dumping down the drain.
I gotta get them outta those pots by Friday :)
Why couldn't you get a bunch of the 6" plastic pots common to all gardening stores? Not enough room?
Correct. I planned on 28, but germed only 25.
None the less, I want to grow these with deep root structure rather than width.
The two litre soda bottles are perfct and they are what I will veg and flower in next time...provided I dont SCROG my next grow.
But I really think this is the way for me to get the most yeild out of my 3.75 sq. space so I'll prolly do another one start to finish with what I learned on this grow.
And, I miscalculated the little bottle I used...I should have raised the soil level higher as had I doe that, the plants would be even more developed than they are now.
The real question is what will the potency be like from 21 -22 day old babies. I have heard it does not affect potency, but havent done it myself.
Anyhow right now they are struggling for root room. I will prolly spend all night tonight transplanting....I dont think I can wait anotehr day. I dont want them going into flower with transplant shock, so the sooner the better.
I was thinking of doing a test with say like a 6-8 inch diameter by 2+ foot piece of pvc pipe. I read where some growers that have been doing it for a long long time said that the tap root is very important not to have hit the bottom of your container and start curling around. The straighter it can be the better the health of the plant. Watering would be the only issue. Getting the soil wet all the way down would be key it would seem. With the proper percentage of perlite though I'm sure it would drain well. Course I suppose that with a SOG you may not need that deep of a container. Maybe just with a regular grow. Be a cool thing for you to try with Cumbucket and her friends!
Good Idea!
The watering problem would be very real. However, if I loaded say the bottom three inches with my lava rock, I could sit the plant into a bottom feeder container and water rom the BOTTOM UP, like I did whore and cunt, very sucessfully :)
Yes, a good idea......
Already though all the roots have hit bottom and are now curling in the corners and bottoms of the containers I have now.
I like the PVC pipe idea.
Allow me to study and perhaps I will keep the one or two plants out for this purpose..... :)
I am only going to keep one or two plants........if that.
I committed to the SOG as a study and I really dont have room for two great females to grow and flower. I guess halfway thru flower I will see the results take shape and can plan my next grow then.
But yes, bottom feeding the PVC with the lava rock is indeed a good idea.....I might consider that......
Plus I do want to do the next SOG with clones from a mother plant which will result in higher yeild I am sure from the MAIN KOLA.
So perhaps I need to keep two to get one mother plant.... But the question is, how many clones can I take from a mother at one time. If I need 20 per harvest, I suppose I need 4 mothers?
Any ideas on how many mother I would need to get 20 clones?
It would seem like if you lst'd you could get all those secondary growth shoots to really come up and use those for clones. I just went and counted the secondary shoots on the plants I posted pics of and they each have about 15-20 so one plant would take care of your needs it would seem. Probably smoke momma but maybe not.
I think I would have to have about 5 mothers to get 25 clones from every 81 days.
Outta the question unless I wanna start a grow setup all over again.
Which I might do, lest I turn into a mad scientist like Latewood has :)
On the two litre bottles, I started transplanting a few already and what was capacity for 28 containers is now reduced to 18 MAX. I have 25 babies so I have 7 plants left to either:
let them grow in what they are.
build new grow room and have them as mothers.
place 18 and flower....pull males and replace with these 7...
Lesson 93 learned :(
I;ll have to figure this one out.
ur just human, lol, everyone makes mistakes, not as bad as mine eh?Quote:

Ok I started the dreaded transplant tonight. I started with the plants that showed the most rootbound.
****INTERESTING DISCOVERY****
Each water bottle that I had rolled up in the thermal blanket, had the most extensive root systems and subsequently were much healthier and far better off than those who had simple foil wrapped around them.
TIME AFTER TIME.
I simply couldnt believe it.
Every SINGLE one had dramatically healthier features.
It appears, at least in this grow, that stabilized soil temps play a role in the growth of MJ than I had ever suspected.
I think the foil thermal blankets kept the soil temps consistent. That is no hot or cool periods.
VERY VERY VERY interesting. I even cracked open a few of the plants that are laggers and their root system was fine.....little root binding and less visable.
BUT EVERY SINGLE BLANKETED GROW CONTAINER EXCELLED IN ROOT PRODUCTION AND LEAF PROLIFERATION.
I think this needs to be investigated further. The results were a real eye opener here.
We talk alot about canopy temps but never about soil temps.
That needs to change...I will try this again just to rule out anything else.
I am convinced there is something to this. NO DOUBT AT ALL. :)
Anyhow here is day 16. Its getting crowded and quite frankly I am looking forward to day 21 when I can flower :)
Anyhow I only have room for about 16 of these 2 litre bottles. I will have to elongate the lights and now find my other high powered CFL.
Some plants will be forced to flower in their original containers. Not the best ones those, only the runts.
I MAY or may not keep a couple out of the flower chamber as I could fit them all in there because I run my fan from top.
But none the less I am excited about what I found under those thermal blankets :) :) :)
Amazing indeed. 5 days to go.
Interesting find HD. But why aren't the new transplant containers wrapped in that stuff now?
Please dont take my lab coat from me.Quote:

Maybe next grow....Bessides that thermal blanket adds a lot of width to the diameter and I am space starved as it is.
.....amazing grow so far......
....i have no clue on clones :P but my m8 got 8 serviving clones from each mother plant....does that help oyu a lil?...
lmoa, my stavia plant is tall as fuk in 3 weeks....i have to throw it away tho :( its already touching the top of the roof in the loft :( i was on holiday so i had no idea it was growing that fast....is there any thc in the leafs of a non flwered plant?
Yes you can smoke a non flowering plant and get buzzed. But..you might need to smoke a whole lot :)
DAY 17 UPDATE
I transplanted four more this time.
I could not believe it but the thermal blanketed plants had rooting systems unlike any 16 days old plants should have...and compared to the simple foiled ones.....something has to be said about keeping the soil temps stable.....
I shall delve into this. The plants are taller, wider, more advanced......
I decided I will Keep two mother plants out of the SOG and use her for clones. I am gonna pic Princess Cum Bucket as one of the others and maybe the BlueBerry X strawberry COugh.....
The germ process is cool and fun, but just takes to long.....I figure I can veg clones for 14 days and flower.
Anyhow here is the SOG day 17 as of a few minutes ago.
Awesome harddon, I see for your first SOG it has come along for you. I get excited every time you post new pictures of your plants, they are just so lush green and sexy! I cant wait to see your final product, btw I rezent my last comment on the 10-12 grams comment lol. I do see you are a true greenthumb and Im assuming you're going to get a very good harvest. Awesome man!:D
Joel, thanks but no need to rezent your comments. You had no idea. :)Quote:

I luv ya Joel, but around here you need to back up your talk lest the crowd gets restless and will dump ya like an ugly stepchild with lepracy and oozing pussing sores :D
Here is the pic we referred to on day 11.....
Its been like 5 or 6 days.....not 10, but we're getting close to triple heh? :D
Thanks again but no regrets my friend :)
Actually 10 g's X 18 plants is 180 g's, or, 6.5 oz's.
Shit I take that every 81 days :)
I could share again :D
Hahaha nice man, If you do decide to share I wouldnt mind sendin ya some cashola for a good blunt ;D. From your previous grows and the SAMPLE RECIEPIENTS thread, they're all raving on your last smoke so I think I would purchase some of this if you gonna share ;D. I will take your advice, thanks again.
i got some $$ too lol. also question maybe i cuz i never seen good green growing. but why they leaves look so wide and dif. don't see the 7's goin on? im a noob outside grower (finaly got some pics of my 10 foot bitch lol will post soon) so bare with me. lol
STC
Sixfeetdeep ; For an SOG you would not be getting very many 7's , most of your leafs would be a 3 or 5. BTW ; harddons first SOG so keep with him.
DAY 18.
I juist finished prepping the flower room for these bithes.
As for the 5,7,9 fingers...those are primarily gentetic expressions which are strain derived. These are only 18 days.
Already, the roots have hit bottom on some of the new containers 2 days after transplant. Already.
No signs of stress and all grew over the last 48 hours.
If you transplant the way I showed you, you can continue growth unabated. There is no 'recovery period' required. Roots growing thru 5 inches of medium in 2 days of transplant should evidence as much :)
Anyhow, I now have veg and flower chamber running so while i think about if I wanna grow a mother plant, I can keep on veggin for the last 3 days.
We shall see.
Day 18 pics :)
MONDAY WE SEX :)
damn hard those babes look awsome for 18 days man.Cant wait to see those babys harvest
Hey hardon, the plant in the front row, second from the left looks a little brown, what causes that? And is there an easy fix? How often should one be watering and/or fertalizing?
HEY HD!! I notice you have giant holes on the back and side wall with no reflective materials on them robbing your plants of life giving light. I'm disappointed. Please send lab coat to.........
How?Quote:

No holes in my shit. Wouldn't be able to grow if there were :)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jetsa...
The brown on that plant was from its entire life being in a little water bottle that got soaked to the top everytime I watered it. Leaves dont like pH down acid on their leaves :) Its all fine, just no so pretty. Plus, since I am sogging only ONE kola pops up anyhow so no loss there.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SKUNK....thank you for the kind words.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9ski9....
We go to 12/12 on Monday.....thats what i meant :)
"No holes in my shit"
So these have reflective materials on them? Looks like it's been ripped off.
LOL MB.....
Looks like hell broke loose huh??? :)
I'll have to fix those :)
DAY 19 UPDATE:
I moved all but 3 so far to their new homes in the 2 litre bottles. I ran out of them so tomorrow I'll have to finish the others off. I will be keeping these three out of the SOG cuz I wanna get a good mother and the blueberry's give me a nice indica/sativa mix...
I have also moved them down below into the MH and HPS room. No more CFL for these. Time to get them acclimated to the new light for a few days.
Fucking sliced my finger to the bone installing new exhaust for that chamber.
Anyhow, here they are and here they will stay until the are harvested...
ANyhow, that pretty much concludes the SOG vegg stage. They will grow more in the next 2 days but not as much as the Kelvin has dropped considerably with the different lights.
Hopefully I can get a bit of stretching going...
It kinda seems a shame to force these into flower....i mean they are just babies and dont even show a single alternating stem.......
Well lets see if it works :)
75% females possible you think?
They have lived stress free for the most part. Some struggled getting out of those stupid assed water bottles used in the beginning.
NEVER use water bottles for anything other than drinking from and pissing into when you're in the garage and dont wanna run inside :D
I was just messin' with ya HD.
Plants look good but I hear ya on throwing them into flower. All you hear is "You have to wait till alternating nodes before you flower!!" But we've seen too many sog grows that turn out awesome to question that it'll work great. I can't imagine that your's won't turn out that way too. Can't wait to see what the percentage will be of females. Good job. Sorry to hear of your war wound. I think they have a song that goes along with that. "Slice your finger to the bone and what do ya get? Boney fingers! Boney fingers!"...or somethin like that.
OUCH!
the next 2 days is going to be good under both bulbs! 18 hrs?
whats the watts on those bulbs?
is this room being sucked into same scruber?
same sixe area as cfls?
like to see pic of this from the outside,
looks like a promising way to grow, and even better with clones.
looks great!!
Angry One...
Yes under these bulbs....18 hours... 250W MH & 250W HPS.
I have placed a metal "T" and the same VORTEX fan sucks from both upper and lower chambers....both chambers have 2 4" passive inlets.
Exact same 3.75 sq. as the top chamber...only 4" taller.
I gonna keep 2 plants as moms and SOG with clones from now on. Just dont have the space.......
2moro i'll post a pic of both upper and lower chambers.
nice going there H...I look at those beautiful BB and I think to myself; I might have to change my plans...It is a shame that you have no more space available to ya...
by the way did you notice my request?..Just replanter 3 bbxjh and 3 misty blueand i wanted to follow your lead, because I usually grow hydro and these new ones are in the cactus mix...so I want to know exactly how you started them...I realize that you already posted this, but I couldn't find it fast enough for my alter-ego...he said "fuckit"
after rooting around in all your recent posts...lmao...help me out would you, I need a few minutes of your time...rsvp
Sure LW...
perhaps we can hook up in chat tmorow night about 11:00 PM EST
looking good harddon...should turn out good..
DAY 20 UPDATE :)
18 have been picked. They will start 12/12 tomorrow evening :)
Thanks for all your viewing...I wont be posting daily updates any longer as I have vegged them as best as I can.
All systems are a go.
Say good bye to the kiddies becuase when you see them again, they shall be young ladies and whores and cunts....just the way we like them :)
Congrats on a smooth veg, HD. Looking forward to their return.
