This post ain't going to make me any new friends....
While many of you dig yourselves out of the snow, and freeze your kiesters off, I'm going fishing for a couple of days. Should make it back in time for the big game.
I came close to taking Jack, but I came to my senses and left her. T/S and a Batch 2 girl were not so lucky...They are out of here. Both were decent weed, but way too loose and fluffy. Both of these strains were 86ed. I may mess more with the T/S, later, but neither of them make the grade for houseplants.
The T/S finished purple. Never saw that from any of the others of that strain. Who knows, maybe a distant relative from long ago made an appearance?
Of the 6 Batch 3 girls, 4 of them are almost identical. The other two...not so much. As the days get longer, most plants will try to elongate. Not these, the compound tips stop this dead in it's tracks.
Also found a Kush .... ok I won't call it a fag. Not very PC. A kush hermi, right next to Jack. No damage done, I caught it in time.
So three down, eighteen left to go. Many of those are on the top, so they are not in the way of long season.
Topknot is dried, and my patient dug a few hundred seeds out of her. Just tasted her tonight. Pretty good. She likes it and wants it in her line-up. But she has yet to meet Jack.
Now budporn becomes easier to find.
1) Plant taken today. Batch 2
2) Batch 3. One of three different variations.
3) Two little Kush girls.
4) An Oz or two....by eye, scale is busted....maybe less. Shit...I'm running low.
Sorry, but I warned you.Quote:

All in all though, not a bad way to spend a blustery winter day. While I am watching the game I have sashimi too. Not too shabby. Can't get anything fresher. Fish was looking for dinner last night...It is dinner tonight.
While I was gone, wife of my youth told me we had a couple of hours of rain yesterday afternoon. And it looks like we will get some more today. The Jack is ready, but I want to see if it what it can take, so she lives for a while longer. No signs of Rot or Mold...yet.
So this one, and the last one are little gloat posts. Feel free to ignore them.
The seed crop is yielding a few each day. Another few weeks until done. The toughest part is keeping them all seperate.
Pics...1) A typical winter day...now we get to walk down the hill.

3) Dinner....Left is Mu'u, Right is Uku.

oldhaole - cool pics:thumbsup:
NICE!!!!
I know I know, it sux to be you ;)
Personally I can't stand your situation,... beautiful weather,... awesome plants..... I f'n hate you! :rastasmoke:
My front yard has about 3" of snow right now, but I love this shit! :D No good for growing, but damned fun stuff otherwise!
OH if you ever hit up Colorado during the winter months give me a ring! the skiing is awesome!
And if flying down a mountain on boards isn't your thing, I'm sure I can hook up some sleds! ;)
Very good log, haole.
We've gotten 18" earlier this week and 12"+ last night. The yard is all plowed, snow banks all around. Some are 8' high, twice as deep and hard a concrete. At least I don't worry about all that warm weather and sweating all over myself. :wtf:
Canni...One year of my life was enough. Unless that money pit I own in Ridgway burns to the ground....one can hope.... Colorado and I do not do well together in Winter. Thanks for the offer, but I gotta pass. I may be there this summer though.
On the other hand. If you ever make it over here, let me know. It's good to have friends in warm places.
Anyway...As you can see this log is winding down. In other words...now we get to the fun part.
Nature was kind enough to stress test the girls. Three days of rain, no sun, extreme humidity, and generaly crap weather. I ignored them for those three days. Check your girls every day, you don't see the progress.
Give them three days...and wow.
Here...see for yourself.
Pic 1) Purple Kush
Pic 2) Batch 3. I have high hopes for this one.
Pic 3) Batch 4. Another Kush.
Pic 4) Batch 2. Reject
Pic 5) Jack
They all look awesome buddy but Jackie girl is still my favourite!!! Can't wait to see your end results. And can't wait to go back home later this year so I can start my first outdoors grow too next season! Indoors is nice and interesting and all and most probably I will continue doing it mostly to experiment on various crazy ideas I have in my head lol, but nothing imho will ever beat mother nature and a good organically grown outdoor dope! You sir are blessed! Keep us posted!
Peace,
:hippy:
A agree with you. Jack at this moment does look like the best.
Remember, I still have my money on batch 3. Jack has a few weeks on them.
I have Jack's bottom branches seeded. I should be able to see the seeds, I know they are there, but the brachs just keep comming. This weed (the unseeded parts) will weigh a ton. It doesn't matter now, all of her will go to personal stash. It may mater later, though.
Outdoors vs Indoors....you all know where I stand on that. A fairly smart monkey can grow outdoors. Indoors you work for it. You pull a good crop indoors, you are the better grower, no question.
I just stack the crap out of the deck by being able to grow outside in Hawaii....put bluntly...I cheat. I'm 1000 miles south. My bad...:D
Never stop experimenting. Learn somthing new. Build off each year. I looked at your log, and have to say it is a detailed, impressive piece of work. Those ideas in your head, one or more of them will be winners.
Mahalo.
Thanks for the heads up Oldhaole and the feedback on my log. Cheating or not outdoors growing is nice. I can grow freely where I leave too no worries on that! I just love big plants and the unrestricted space that you can grow in without having to think if they get too tall or too wide and wont fit in your grow room lol :p
I just FIMed a couple of mine and not all cause first of all it's the first time and didn't want to screw em all and also cause I'm not sure if they start growing all bushy and wide and end up not fitting in my grow space. Height is not an issue with me as with most indoor growers but it seems like area can be :(
And as I said I will never stop growing indoors and experimenting, I love the challenge. If any of my ideas work out in the future you'll be of the first to know! Will be sharing my journey with you guys anyway. So far it hasn't even started for good and it's already been a hell of a time!
Mahalo brother,
:hippy:
It had to happen sooner or later. This be winter. A wet one.
Jack is done. It took six days of shit weather start the mold. Stress test over.
The Kush was the one that rotted the most. Jack handled pretty damn good.
It's done and hanging. Stupid would be to let it mold. Damn it....
Yesterday it pounded. Today it pounded. Back end of a small front made a home over us and kicked the shit out of here. And it looks like most of this upcomming week will be more of the same. A decent front is right behind this one. Fuckin' jet stream dipped again. I expect another week of rain....crap.
One the good side this may just make it worth it to chase the gulch we free planted. It needed rain...it got it. Big Time. LSY...you may get your wish.
Canni...see what happens when I gloat? Smile...get kicked in the teeth. :D
One day I will learn to keep my trap shut...not today though...or tomorrow.
Seeds are in... thank god for that. Another week of rain and I will have seeds germinating in the buds.
Oh well. Hope I am wrong. Another week of rain will kill me. That will be game over. Mold city. Batch 3 become iffy. I have been known to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat before....one more time please...long shot though.
But then again....clear the holes and we go right to part 3.
In a week I will know which direction to go. In 2006 we had 40 days of rain.
In a row. This is beginning to look like that.
Outdoors is easy? Only if I get to control the weather. Not in this lifetime.
Sorry to hear that bro. It sucks when shit like that happens. And you said outdoors is easy anyway... :( What about throwing some polythene or however that plastic sheets are called they use in greenhouses over the plants? Either cover them or just dip four poles in the soil around them and attach it on top like a tent kind of thingie? Hope my english made sense lol. I guess you get my point more or less anyway. ;) Won't fight the humidity, but at least it should keep the rain away and the plants more or less dry? Or maybe I'm just talking crap dunno... :wtf: It's just a shame to let em rot at this stage, we should come up with some idea to save the girls!!! Good luck with this and keep us posted. Hope all goes well at the end. At least save Jackie!!!Quote:

Oh well.... You know what they say....Shit happens.
Jack is in the bag. I could have taken her a week ago, but I wanted to see how it does against our humidity. Six days of rain to rot. I know that she can take that. First time growing Jack, this is stuff I need to know. And is much easier to learn this stuff now on little plants, than later on big ones.
Most...not all of my seeds are in. That's the important part.
Shit...look at the bright side. If we went back a few years, before I was legal I'd have 500 in. Then we are talking about disaster. This is merely annoying.
I've had potted weed plants, that I hauled in before every rain...and they still molded. There's humid....then there's Upcounty humid....has to do with all that damn water around us. And where we sit on the lee of this volcano.
Gotta say it is kinda funny...in a piss you off kinda way.
Just when I start to get cocky....Slapped back down. Perfection is a dream for me...never a reality. Get used to it. There is still that perfect season out there. One day....
Mea culpa, Mea culpa, Mea maximus culpa.
How quickly we forget.:)
Last season was near perfect, yah?
So?
You want two inna row?
And unless I miss my bet, we learn stuff from 'trial by wet .
Fer instance.
How did the "Brand X" babes fare?
Gotta admit, I did not afford them the respect they deserved at first.
Though I reasoned that nobody's gonna plant a strain for 27 years if it's not superior.
It's one of the original polyploid strains from the late '60s that I find to be stronger than my $10 "designer seeds".
[attachment=o265703]
I give it an A+ for taste and potency!
Grows much mo' betta here than it does in Ca.
If it handles our kine wetness, we may have found da grail!
All quiet on da eastern front.
Aloha nui

I??d re-name that Brand X. How??s about Rodney Dangerfield?.can??t seem to catch no respect!

OK...yes you have a point.
I had hoped it would not come to this....excuses and reasons time. :(
Brand X came to me after I had some good canadates to mess with. I already had the house grossly overloaded. For a while I thought I would just shove them in the cane. But your talking three patches. That's some work for a small payoff. Not to mention, a rip could end this line in one crack.
So I made a decision to keep these small, seed them and cross them. That's where we are now. Right now I am just starting to collect the seeds off them.
So far no rot, but they have yet to bulk up to where they rot easily.
I promise you... I have plans for Brand X. It also doesn't hurt to have a few hundred seeds either.
I'm jammed up right now with the season switch, and I havn't had a chance to really get to know Brand X. Also I am not even going to try to regrow these. I don't know enough....yet.
I quote myself in an earlier post....
My wild card is the Brand X. It has lavender hairs, and though early in the show. It looks good. I would have liked to get ahold of this earlier, I'm not proud of the little plants, but I kept them small and managed to cross the females with itself, and the males were crossed with everything else. So I can kick that can down the road and mess with it later.
Yea... That does sound like me describing Rodney. My big mistake. Very sorry.
But that was my deficency...not the plants.
Remember Brand X came to me last. Logical progression is it will be in the last part of this log. Besides I am an attention whore, big plants give a small wow factor. Small seeded plants...ya get nothing.
I do owe you an apology. I should have put a couple in big pots, just to give this a taste. But I have eyes...and a nose....and that's why I call it my wild card. No insult was intended. It was just the way the dance card got filled out.
And it seems weez's has white hairs....mine are all lavender.
So let me beg for a little bit longer. I promise to road test this puppy hard, as soon as I can. And it would be a good bet that this goes into the top drawer.
Later
OH
I must admit to a very dry sense of humor?..now Weeze knows me well enough that I can say just about anything to him just for a laugh. I thought that the Rodney Dangerfield of weed to be amusing?..absolutely no animosity intended.
I come from a small town where ??not talking to you? means I??m pissed?..But ??hey asshole? means I still love you.
If I??d had anything rude to say to you I??d have e-mailed you?.I wouldn??t have done it in a public forum.
As far as the seed?..my family taught me that a gift is a gift?.100% yours to manage?.nunmy bidness. Weeze has enjoyed them?.my hope is that you will as well.
Weeze sends me a picture and says lavender pistils?.but I see them as white as well. I??m pretty sure that he??s got some problems that he??s not admitting to though.
[attachment=o265831]
I??m enjoying watching the two of you grow ??Rodney??s? in Hawaii. The temperature here last night was below freezing with the humidity about 15%. You complain about rain, humidity, and powdery mildew?..I complain about all the hand lotion that I have to use to minimize the cracking in my hands.
I too showed Rodney little respect?.But I??m putting a lot of energy this winter to improving the location for better light?.I won??t end up with an ??equatorial? grow?but I??m not willing to take the risk of a very well lit guerilla grow.
No worries here?..and I am still looking forward to a round of golf someday??ya?? asshole.
Un otro coulo.
"And it seems weez's has white hairs....mine are all lavender."
Bet high school was rough. :D
Actually, the "old seed" gal had a pale lavender tint at the 3rd week. Which then faded out.
Same with the next gen seeds.
A pale, dusky, tint, is all I've seen so far.
Could be lack of UV. Been filtering it out.
[attachment=o265832]
Filters out the rain too.
Just popped 2 more next gen. X gen. for Valentines day.
And I have moved "Nani Fiddie" into the sun for her terminal tan.
At day 34;

Got more snaps, but no wanna clutter your thread.
Plan to start a grow log for the next brand-X grow soon as dey pop.
A video diary of forbidden love.

An' no worry, we understood da situation O.H., we was jus' pokin' atcha a little. ;)

As for me im getting ready for my 2nd go around, last year was my trial run and it went about like any other newbs first outdoor grow. Not so good but i did end up with a few grams and learned from it so i plan on having a better year this time is mother nature permits it.
Sounds like HMR is the origin of the "X" strain AKA Rodney! :jointsmile:Quote:

This ain't an easy post....How do you explain failure?
2006 all over again. I can smell it. It's the reek of failure. As soon as the sun comes up today....I'll take almost everything....salvage some smoke out of this clusterfuck.
Want to see my death warrants? By my guest;
University of Hawaii Meteorology: Bulletins
Weather Model - North Pacific Jet Stream Wind and 250 mb Pressure (STORMSURF)
Yesterday I screwed up. The morning started sunny. I thought I had too noon before the cloudbank moved in. Enough time to do my trips and get back in time to take. Wrong... By 10 it was pouring. It didn't stop until 3 AM.
Everthing has mold. Everything.
The only bright spot...got most of my seeds in. And Jack too.
But this is going to change everything....a wet year. If I had any brains at all I must accept this, change gears and plant accordindly. I should cut my patients loose, maybe they can find another grower....the house has a good chance if failure this year.
So today is my day to be a dick....better tell the wife to clear out. I am not going to be any fun as I take molded weed....and realize what could have been.
Now I need some light so I can proudly show off how badly I screwed up Might as well do this now.
OK... Where the hell were we?
Want to know how to get the rain to stop? Go harvest half your crop. Rain stops.... Hi sun... Where the hell you been? A LITTLE LATE HUH?
We had a nice little thread going....and I stepped on it.
Rodney came through...not untouched...a couple molded. A little WPM. But compared to the other moms...way better.
I'm not proud of this. The only thing I wanted was a taste, and the seeds.
And I got'em. So here they are.
Weez... Feel free to post anything here you want to. Your a class act.
Horseman... I feel bad...but I'll get over it. We just tried one of the mini Rodneys....It's damn good. Even got a "Whered chu get dis from?" from my partner. You're still going to give me those 4 ft gimmies huh? No? Asshole.
Big....I can help you with that.
Sticky...nice to see ya back. Where ya been?
Canni....nothing gets by you. Naming?... not my place to do....but I didn't...:D
Hi lyn
Notice I'm in a way better mood? Everything I took has been trimmed. Saved quite a bit. so it wasn't a total loss. Lost about half a lb. Got about that. Beats losing it all.
And the market...that was flooded...is drying up. And hyphatheticly (sp) of course...if you had ....say 15 lbs left over from long season....saved up....you're now driving the bus. Nothing make me happier than telling people that want to make a buck off of me..."sorry, I can't do that...at that price."
First couple of pics are how I fucked Rodney up.
last one is how the mold fucked me up.
"The only thing I wanted was a taste, and the seeds.
And I got'em. So here they are."
Dat's da spirit!
Nex' time, wish fo' what you really want, yah?:D
Had me worried fo' a bit.
Was actually organizin' a care package for ya.
:S1:as I am, of late.
No worry! if you evah really run out, you have friends.:)
What evah it takes, my brother.
Aino fergets.
Weeze
Glad you managed to salvage what you could brother, and good thing the sun is back even a little late... Nasty mould on that last pic, little ones look nice though! Keep on growing, next one will be better for sure. As will hopefully be mine (yeah it doesn't look good as it is, some shit I can't identify out of nowhere), I learned a few thing more and next one will be better organized. (still trying to squeeze $ out of my wallet to get more equipment :()
Let me know how Jackie girl ended up being when you sample her!!!
Peace,
:hippy:
I'll scrape by. Thanks much for thinking of me. I just should NOT post in the AM. I made a big mistake and was pissed at myself.
AND I counted my chickens...early...error. Worse yet, I was starting to get cocky....I needed to get slapped down or I would rapidly become unsufferable
Oh sorry....I'm there already.
It freaks me out sometimes how fast this can take a left turn directly into downtown Shitville. Then the rain stops...and Shitville ends.
Mal....Jack yielded 4 good ozs and one I left one molded oz in the trash. Considering it took a week of rain, which washed off a lot of crystals, It came out good.
As for your grow I saw the pic of the damaged leaf. That is no big deal...I think.
The strain that molded the most had to be the Kush, followed close second by the tops of Batch 3.
Ah well i have just been really busy not much free time, but now things are slowing down so i got some time on my hands for myself.
Sorry to hear about your mold probs man, it seems when you do not want rain you get more than enough then when you want some you will not see a drop, guess thats just life gotta take it with a grain of salt.
It sucks big time I can understand that brother, but shit happens all the time trust me I know that very very well. Just try to channel the frustration into energy and use that to achieve your goals. Stay angry but focused and nail your next grow. And don't worry about getting cocky, we all do and it's one of the things that make us human. (not trying to sound like an expert here, just someone with shitloads of bad luck in many aspects :()Quote:
