You've given into temptation then? Lol. I'm gonna watch your flowering, so I can see if there's much difference in growth times etc between our little ladies. Having said that, we finally realised ours aren't straight WW, ours are crossed with Big Bud, so I guess I can't really compare after all :( But still, I wanna see how it all goes regardless!! It's nice to watch the logs, a bit like a family album lol. Stay  and you'll soon be :stoned: :D
I am not tempted in the least, it does smell good and I am aware of it's effects but I am not a huge fan of smoking.

I am thinking about using nutes on next watering, not sure if I should since I know they don't really need them.
Doubt you need nutes. Make sure, in fact, you don't give them anything but pure water in the last 2-3 weeks before cultivation. This ensures the product is pure and without nutrient taste, if you weren't aware. :)
Your grow log is inspiring me. I'm gonna go over your details soon again. I need to get my pH balance set and humidity regulated here soon.
Oh, also, what water did you eventually go with? I was checking out the wal mart water earlier tonight. Looks good and cheap. My current water tests at around 7.2pH, and I don't like it.
Honestly, for the first month or so I was using bottled Poland Springs since it has a perfect pH. But then I started using normal tap water pH was about 7.2, so I bought a pH kit and brought it down to about 6-6.2 (same color that Poland Springs is under the test. Went with tap since it can't be that bad, hell, I drink it and it tastes fine. So to save money I went that route, plant's don't seem to mind it they are growing at the same rate as before.Quote:

Since I was running low on FFOF soil, I used alot more perlite than I needed to, it is like 75% perlite and 25% FFOF soil. So I do need to water more often but that's alright. I was watering too much before and leaves started to droop, now I water once every other day or so and they love it, all perky.
Most of the members on here call growing an art and takes skill and practice, I disagree for the simple fact that common sense plays a big part. As long as you simulate the same outdoor growing conditions, then I doubt anyone would run in to problems. now hydro and soiless on the other hand may require a little more technical know how, but for the most part is it common knowledge. Using soil, make sure you use the good stuff mixed with natural fertilizer and almost 100% chance you won't burn them, and you won't need to add anything else the entire grow such as mine.
Take for instance, this is my very first grow. That right there says alot, how could someone as inexperienced as me, come on here and make a kick ass grow? Research. Understanding what the plants needs are, and you most likely will not run in to any problems at all. Take proper precautions against insects, keeping humidity under control to prevent mold/fungus growth, and proper heat and airflow with lighting at optimal distances = no issues. Failure to abide by simple things like this usually result in much bigger problems. So ignorance plays a big part in plant care.
When i saw your plants at day 37 compaired to mine your plants are freaking huge!
Great job dude. Happy healthy plants Gratz:thumbsup:
I appreciate it :) I am uploading some more pics here in a few mins, gimme some feedback :)Quote:

That's it so far, the plant in the back is 25 inches and the front one is 22 inches, they are definitely like a small xmas tree shape and the side chutes are expanding alot more since flowering started. Looks as if they are searching for light. Anyways here is the latest set of shots.

Nice looking plants. I like that you use a fertilized soil. I'm considering this route as well rather than add nutes as I go. I like the tip burn on all your plants. They are getting just as much as they can handle and no more. I am thinking that that is b/c the roots seek out and use nutes as they need it rather than being force fed.
Do you mind reposting your soil mix? I think it is posted somewhere below and I'll ferret it out if needed.
I have an issue with your pics though. Any chance you can post up lower resolution pics? The hires pics take an age for my old 2002 powerPC to load up! Once the iMac line gets a refresh I'll be good to go!
Hey guys thanks for checking em out, I can definitely take some lower res pics for you bigs, Here is my soil mix:
For the first 2 pottings I used something like this:
60% FFOF Soil
20% Miracle grow Perlite
10% Bat Guano
10% Worm Castings
For the second 2 pottings (current 3 gal pots now) I used:
30% FFOF Soil
50% Perlite (forgot the brand name)
15% Bat Guano
5% Worm Castings
But now that I have them repotted in the second set (3 gal pots) I am using the Jack's Classic Bloom Booster 1/4 strength in 1 gallon tap water (make sure you take the pH test after adding nutes I keep mine at around 6.5 since the soil runoff comes out to around 6.2 I am sure the plants are getting what they need. I will have some more pics here in a few.

So which did you prefer? This run is looking pretty fat.

They both work well without burning the plants. When you repot with the second mixture you will need to water more often which I also like because it gives you more options as far as adding nutes goes, since the fertilizer is natural you can add extra and it won't have any effect on the plants well being in a negative way at all, that's why I prefer using the natural stuff over chemicals. (besides Jack's Classic which is natural, but water soluable)Quote:

Adding the Blossom Booster the last couple of waterings does not seem to burn them at all, and I get to water more often, more waterings = more options, more perlite = more air getting to roots which = better growth, so use more perlite, more perlite never hurts :)
Interesting. I like this approach. You definitely got the results!Quote:

I'm still way way behind building my new room. I have some blocks of time coming up so I'm hoping to move it forward. I'm going to use your mix when I start. I assume you used a seedling mix to get them started?

So you talked about LST at the beginning of the grow, what happened? I see you didn't top them either, just trying regular trees this time?, I guess everyone does it one time, ever since I tried LST/topping I'm addicted.
What I did was instead of LST was let them grow longer in veg to about 19 inches or so, that way I yield a little more than vegging for a short period of time. My closet constraints will not allow me to LST due to limited closet space. :/Quote:

So the clones are pretty self explanatory, used a non see-through black coffee mug for the cuttings. Plastic wrap with holes to suspend them in the water of pH of 6.3 below, leave about an inch below the surface of the plastic so that the last half inch of the stalk is in the water. I have them under 18/6 light some daylight the other MH. Took about 4 days for those roots to sprout, normal everyday humidity above the plastic wrap and 100% humidity under it (obviously)
I believe this to be the best economical and most effective method to cloning, no need to buy the expensive stuff when you could just as easily build something like this at home on a large scale. What gets me is the fact that I didn't use any rooting hormones on these... hmmm... maybe the rooting hormone is a hoax, idk... But seems to me that normal ph water will do the trick just as well.
the only im i use is yahoo.
That's good enough I have it on here somewhere, what messenger name can I hit you up on?Quote:

+1 The longest I've had a clone in a rapid rooter (which yours would need about 1/2" more root growth to explode out the side of the plug) was about 9 days,... (most have been 6-7) after that root growth was explosive under the humidity dome even tho leaf growth was stunted.Quote:

My biggest concern with an aeroponic/wet clone like your doing is the transplant shock into soil...... My wife's basil and 2 newest tomato's were all grown from seed in rockwool by the local hydro store in an areoponic system, and altho the root system was spectacularly hardy the shock of moving into soil stopped all 3 plants growth for better than a week and we lost foliage on all of them from the shock.

And as I transplant add more soil. As far as transplanting I need to be careful not to crush/break the roots.
Thanks for posting because I definitely needed some outside input on these babies :D
It's not a hoax. It stimulates root production. It also seals the end of the stalk. One concern when cloning is the formation of a tiny air bubble in the stalk. It will kill the clone. Cloning gel seals the end so that no bubble can form. I'm guessing this could be accomplished with something else.Quote:

I'm traveling right now but can dig out a tutorial when I'm back if you are interested or just search here.
For the cuttings, I cut far enough down so that I get 2 extra sets of branches/leafs, then i use a razor to cut between the leaf and the stalk just a little bit, then I peel the skin all the way down to the bottom of the cutting that way I expose the inner skin of the stalk :)
That sounded a little creepy. But yeah that should get some strong roots.
ROFLMAO, now that you mention it, your right that was a little creepy (not my intention)
Anyways, here is an update on the log.

Both plants are roughly 35 inches tall now, they are growing very fast and very nice smelling, next watering I am going to start adding 1 tablespoon of molasses per 1 gallon of pH water.
Nice thread you got going THC. Right now, I am growing Seedsman White Widow among two others. Both our plants are lookin pretty similar, as I am on day 11 of flowering. Mine range from 22-28 inches, but have quite a bit of side branching. Im sure both Nirvana and Seedsman will give us some nice White Widow.
Yeah I am sure we will have some nice product when its all done :DQuote:

Well I have a thread up in the Problems section, but they have improved greatly since then. I was gonna start a grow log around 3 weeks. Mine look similar to yours, but maybe less spacing between the nodes, and my plants have nute burn on the tips. But lots of white pistils showing up everywhere. And a decent amount of branching, which I was surprised about.
Anyway, once I start getting some bud production Im gonna put up a log. I originally had 5 plants under a 400 HPS, but they outgrew the space. So I have 3 under the HPS and 2 under some CFLs.
I wonder which ones are growing better/faster ::laugh:: :pQuote:

That's it for today :)
I've used two kinds of rooting hormones, botone powder, and clonex gel, and right now I'm rooting some clones with nothing but water. All I can say is the hormones are just a little reassurance, but are not needed. I'm using a bubblecloner I made, and already after 7 days I spotted roots, they're under a t5 fixture.
As for transplanting, the roots are very delicate, so don't let the roots get too big, 1 inch max is what I use to judge when to transplant into solo cups with medium. if you let the roots get too long they'll be shocked to find they aren't going to stay in a true hydro system, so once you spot roots, plant them bitches.
Any reason why you're adding molasses already?
anyway, keep on keepin' on.
