when i got a good amount of weed to smoke i hold it for like 3-5 seconds i guess. but if all i got is a roach i usually hold the smoke as long as i can. after doing that a while sometimes now after i do that my head throbs for a minute i've always known its from the lack of oxygen but i figured maybe holding it longer gives your red blood cells or w/e more time to transport the shit through your body, but i guess i'm just stupid and now i know why. from all those brain cells i been killing doing that shit :thumbsup:

I'm with Lip on this one...no need to hold it in. If I remember correctly somewhere around 80-90% THC is absorbed in the first few (2-3) seconds, after that it is up to the individual if they want to try to extract that last bit of THC while depositing tar in your lungs, or just let it out.
Inhaling any smoke is bad for you....why hold it in 5-10 times longer than necessary to get only 10% more?

i only hold in for like 3 seconds or so, jsut long enough i dont know, theres a point where it feels right to let out the smoke, unless im hitting the g bong at one of my friends houses then i hold it in for awhile.... i dont know why lol, thats where i just got back from and damn am i high
I inhale, then exhale slowly through my nose if I am smoking dank out of my pipe. I do not hold in for much reason and am a believer that 3 seconds is enough.
Lets think about this. If you were to hold your breath for 1 minute, you would obviously think "i need to breathe". Well lets say you hold it for 1 minute, then very very as quickly as possible, exhale, inhale. It wouldn't take but 1 second, yet you would get the oxygen your body needs, in one single quick breath.
HOWEVER
The other day I was smoking my NL+BB on my couch. I was watching tv, and I had my lamp on. As a habit, every exhale is directed at my lamp, which makes the smoke look cool, which is fun. (i practice smoke rings in it) Anyway, I took a good solid perfect hit that was perfectly dense, but not so dense that it would make me cough. I filled up my lungs, and thought for a second 'WOW', but held it. Right then, everything slowed down. After what felt like 6-10 seconds, i blew it towards my lamp. Well you can tell when the smoke hits the lamp, and I remember being lightheaded and high and looking at the ceiling while I exhaled and It felt like it took forever. Amazing hit, baby.
Don't underestimate holding a hit in for at least 5 seconds on occasion.

Ya know those people who can free dive like 400feet or whatever, they hold their breath for up to 4 minutes. They are in the best of shape and can run a fuckin marathon.
