This draft talk is ONLY done by the dems as a scare tactic and also to try to prove to the American public that ALL sons and daughters should serve, not just the poor and dumb as Kerry would put it. The days of million man armys going at it in a battle field are DONE. Look how the massive troop build-up was handled in the Gulf War. Arial attacks untill it's soft enough for ground forces or the enemy surrenders. We have EMG bombs, UAVs, MOABs, just to mention a few things.

ha, how long have we been in Iraq battling sectarian violence? Quite some time now, and we haven't used these weapons..we've just been killing umm..around 3,000 American soldiers. Hasn't happened by now, isn't going to happen. Time to bring the boys back home. They don't need to die for any reason over there.

Two things about Iran's military that throws off the figures. Voluntary age is 16, US its 18. So they got a 2year start on America. At 18 Iranians are required to serve for 18 months (6 months basic training, 12 months active). America has no requirement to join, volunteers only.
