Honestly though, balls of weed sorta suck.
Just came across this thread again and the conversation reminded me of a good video I saw recently that showed closeups of the finished product, so thought I'd post it.

If anyone wishes to buy one of these machines I have packed up my pastures and moved on up to a different life. No looking back. This machine is to accomplish your "One Year." and be done.
This machine was purchased last fall and did over 400lbs. Works absolutely flawlessly. I'd recommend cleaning every 50lbs or so to get a nice clean cut. Everything comes out looking like perfectly shaped nuggets. These other fellas have no mechanical sense above or are just plain closet growers where this machine would not be necessary.
The machine is in Toronto Canada. Unfortunately I can not ship to the US as it will not be immaculately clean. And we know what that means.
I will sell it for 12k. Not interested in negotiations sorry. I'd keep it as a momento. Only interested in the big players like I was when I bought. Sorry for the arrogance I just have no time for dreamers. If you know what you got coming up and anticipate a bumper crop...this machine will pay for itself by tacking on $100 - $200 per pound because of its appearance! Trust me!
Note: The procedure will be different than you are used to. For optimal results the product should be as fresh as possible. We accomplished this by storing harvest in an industrial cooler or reefer truck until ready for processing much the same way a flower store holds flowers. You will also need 6 full time buckers to keep the machine running full tilt + 1 loader, 1 quality assurance and one shelfer. This must be dried on shelves of course. With this setup you can do 80-100 pounds a day.
Best of luck.

i prefer the manual way.. Like all other people have said here, it has more quality if you do it manually. Your harvest will be heavier and higher quality if you don't go lazy..
It both save you money and save your buds for turmoil. But that's my way of trimming, for me machine are just waste of money.. :)
