ahhhhh some day i hope... in the greener future..
Cannabis Legalisation Ireland
I am one of the main organisers of last years and this years J-day or as it's known now World Wide Marijuana March Irleand.
just want to say thanks to all those who believe, something is better than nothing, and it's better to try then not to and thanks for all constructive critism, it's always welcome. Admittedly last years event could not be considered a great success, but it was a start and hopefully it will grow and improve from there. Like someone kindly pointed out, it's mainly down to lack of experience and there's only one way to get that! This year we are organising a March, because as people with a political issue it is our legal right to March and we will not be disperessed and moved on by the powers that be.
Could go on all day, but easier if yiz just check out this years site, fairly up to date Cannabis Legalisation Ireland ? Let us know what yiz think? All help/ideas welcomed!!
To those with only negative comments and rediculous comments about it 'happening by itself' ???? anyway or it 'never going to happen'???? please don't bother unless you're able to open your mind just a little. We are not dreamers, we do not think it is going to happen any time soon, but it's going to take a lot longer if nobody is trying to do anything?? Look at England and the organisations there, they seem to achieve a lot, if even only to educate people and slowy change the atitude of the general public? Do you really think the many campaigns over there had nothing to do with de-criminalisation??
Anyway sorry for the ear burning, just people who sit back and slag others trying to do some good, really gets to me!!
Be Good,
Smokie Mc.

I have the upmost respect for those who campaign but DO NOT come on these boards and moan about taking a bit of slack from those who are out there doing REAL ground work for the fight. Some of us have famillies and wish to remain in the shadows and think that going to bushy park for a smoke and a chat is a bit ridiculous. It attracts youth who just dont care and think "oh yeh free the weed man! ,now anyone gota a joint".Lets face it we aint like the Canandians ,Dutch,Swiss etc and never will be.
Well maybe a little strong ,never.I don't like never. When I look at my baby girl I wonder if we can make a start there changing the next generations way of thinking so its not a big deal.Lets face it the little fuckers running around my estate couldn't give two fucks about legizlation. They'd smoke there own mother if it would get them high!
Well if your going to come onto the boards with an attitude like in the aboveQuote:

Many people on these boards are just sick and tired of do gooders that think
they can change the fooking world by organizing a march/rally/walk or whatever
you want to call it...
Yeah sure,, maybe it will have some sort of impact,, but as i've said
on numerous occasions before,, it's not going to happen anytime in
the near future. . . .
Best of luck in your endeavors to change the country's mindset!
Have a good one!!
this thread is great... so many minds.. all love the same thing do..
Peace
As smokie said,it's not going to just happen by itself and at least we're trying to do something. This is the first pro-cannabis march in the history of the state and we're not expecting 10,000 people but as long as we get the message across and get a bit of media coverage it'll be worth it. Look at the changing attitudes across the globe in the last decade. It's been downgraded to class C in England, in most parts liberal parts of America you can smoke and you will get in little trouble if caught by the authorities, in many regions of Canada it's pretty much decriminalised if not legal... I could go on and on but basically attitudes are changing since the days of Harry Anslinger and co.Quote:

I know the last few J-day's were not up to much but this time it is much better organised and planned. And what do you mean by 'doing REAL ground work for the fight' I hope you don't mean selling smoke because how on earth that benefits the legalisation I don't know. I'm sure we've all had some run in with the law but you say: ' How many times YOU have been prosecuted and imprisoned for growing and or supplying those in need of some Kind medeicine.' That 'i'm a schmad dealer who's done time' stuff is just childish boasting at best and I'd say the vast majority of posters on this site are as unimpressed with it as I am.
If you actually served time for growing and distrubuting weed to medicinal users for free the I salute you but I'm afraid that to actually be arrested and sentanced to prison you would have to be a fairly high up dealer who would have been making a fair profit. How exploiting weed's illegality for your own profit benefits the cause I don't know.
In summary, chill the fuck out.
