Bugmenot: I think your right, more light would be a good idea, but I'm only just starting out and by using 2 X 50 Watt LED panels I do not have to think about cooling. My grow cupboard has brick walls and it would be a mighmare to vent unless I vent into the house (which would stink out the place!). I did have some flies after checking. I have gently washed them away - will keep an eye on them from now on. Thanks for suggestions.
mtxdrgn: I'm on 18/6 at the moment. I don't really know when to switch to 12/12. I guess in a week or 2 when I know for sure they are sexually mature.
I must have worded that badly as I definately don't want them to be males!!
rarekind :)
It's kinda hard to tell under the LED light but It does look like the beginning of male flowers at the nodes.
If they're as tall as you want them to be you can switch to 12/12. (They'll still get a little taller). Then you'll definitely find out the sex soon.
Hey Joe,
Thanks for the comments. I fear the same, i have 4 plants and 1 is showing pistols.
Still not sure about the others. I can't tell if its too early to tell, or if they are male?!!! Pic shows how the other 3 look.
I switched to 12/12 2 days ago.
Any comments appreciated...
Still too early to tell. It does look promising, though...
The small white female hairs can be very hard to see...usually two; sometimes only one hair. I have to use a magnifing glass, myself.
Good Luck
:rastasmoke:I was wondering if preflowers means that the plant is flowering or just showing sex(maturity) to be able to be flowered...Im a new grower and my plants are 6 weeks there are suppose to be autoflowers but im not sure...sorry if pic are not good..thanks for all the help in advance:stoned:
Posted to an old post. I deleted it. Sorry
As to the last post. Once it shows pre-flowers it's old enough to flower more easily. Not forced.
i a compleat noob but i think thats a male and you need to get this for your other plants Amazon.com: Green Light Neem II - 24 oz Spray #07824: Patio, Lawn & Garden
Can anyone give me an idea how early male pre flowers or flowers will be dropping pollen? I don't want to kill plants that Im not 100% sure of their sex yet- spotting them early is something i still have work to do on... A lot of the pictures i have seen of male flowers are pretty late and its really obvious at that point- just trying to figure out how much time i have...
