I just can't stand all the praise this band recieves, and how people ignorantly label them Metal. If you want metal, check out shit like Behemoth, Nile, Emperor, ect.

Wow, you guys are into some heavy shit.. its way to intense for me, and not really enjoyable to listen to.. and yes, slipknot thinks there hard..

I have respect for some of the bands though, Slayer, Pantera, Dimebag darrel especially.

Hey man, Slipknot was some heavy ass shit when their self titled album came out, and Iowa was even heavier.

If you're referring to their lastest effort and Stone Sours patheitc new album, then yes, I agree with you.

Mike from Slipknot can fuckin shred man. At times I don't think he shows his true talent.

They weren't heavy at all. Compare some of their shit to some of Behemoth's material from the same era. Compare it to ANY true metal band. It isn't shit. It's heavy pop music.

But there are things I will admit;
The drummer, is one of the most talented drummers I have ever seen. It's a shame he wastes his talent. The same could be said about the guitarist you mentioned.

Eh, I've never been one for slipknot, whether or not they're "hard". The guitarist just hits a note and stomps all over a huge mat of effects pedals, and they have so many unnecessary members...what the fucks up with that clown that hits beer kegs? The music doesn't strike any chords with me...I just don't like music that's specifically marketed to make money off of kids inner anger.

Sry for the doble post but, I agree with you here mate, they arent heavy, at all, the majority of their sngs suck, they just have a few good pop numbers like ait and Bleed, My Plauue and the one where in the video its raining in the woods.

They are about as heavy as Queen, but still fun to listen to.

I agree, Behemoth is fucking great, especially Satanica ad Zos Kia Cultus. Do you like Belphegor at all? They play a similar style of black/death metal as Behemoth but they're more black metal oriented. Well, more black metal than the first few Behemoth albums at least.
