Bro,
I looked at that link you provided for the light conversion. However I am still a little worried about trying it. However I really want to do it due to the fact that I can afford one of those lights before a light from a grow supply.
Think you could help out? Maybe show some pics of each thing that you bought for the build, so I know exactly what I am looking for? Would really appreciate it.
Peace.

I thought about doing that too, but I looked around and found some 105-watt (real watt) CFLs with about 7000 lumens each, for $20 each, plus shipping, and went that route. Then I found some reflectors at WalMart in the automotive department for $6 each, got two of those, one for each big CFL. Then I added six 26w CFLs, for $16 total. Plus about $10 worth of socket adapters and splitters and extension cords. Total expenditure of about $88 for 366 watts of CFLs, which will push out around 20,000 lumens. I guess I'll know how well this works around the end of the year -- just waiting on the big CFLs to arrive and then gonna throw a plant I've been vegging for five or six months into flower and see what happens. It's just an experiment on a spare plant in a closet. I have a real flowering cab too, but it's already got occupants and I had nowhere to put this other plant, soooo...might as well experiment on it. ;)
reflector at wally world hmmm do show a pic please so i know what im looking for i need a new pair of reflectors
For $5.88, hope you aren't expecting much. It's actually an "Incandescent Clamp Light", which is basically a bulb socket, cord, clamp, and a round reflector. But I wanted cheap and easy, and this was the ticket. Took me a while to find it, it was supposed to be in the tool department, but they'd put it on the bottom shelf in the far wall in the automotive department for some reason. The reflector is aluminum, round, 8.5" in diameter, and the socket handles up to a 150-watt bulb. Here's a pic.
