Well it seems to me that in America you have a choice of right wing or slightly more right wing. I would have thought a liberal person would be a nice break. I doubt many people are going to get too left wing in America so I wouldn't worry about Communist tyranny.
well, the country has been moving 'left' for the past 100 years with our federal reserve system and all of the socialist and welfare programs and treaties and trade deals that have stripped congress of a lot of authority and given it to the president.
the same way germany's republic was destroyed is basically how we are.
we are not far right at all. there are very few real republicans left in our congress that stand for small, limited government with checks and balances and separation of powers. they're all for big government, selling out sovereignty with trade deals, open borders, gun control, abortion, nafta...all of the 'left' issues they all agree on.
check out ron paul's website. he's a true conservative.
in the end though, it's tyranny. whether it comes from the left or right. socialism leads to fascism, they work together to enslave people.
i might have already told you, but go to the thread i have on page 3 called most of alex jones' video to watch...or something like that...and watch road to tyranny first, then matrix of evil. it's so hard to explain to people that there really is a sinister plot to destroy our constitution (and your magna carta) and give us a world socialist dictatorship. the plan is to disarm the world, and they have bad things planned for the world. all of history shows leaders disarm their entire populations because they have bad things planned, it's naive to think otherwise. and in our case, it's no different.
i urge you to look into this some more before you totally dismiss it. although as the tyranny becomes darker and deeper, i think you'll begin to understand what i'm talking about. it's what people have been talking about and writing about for a while now.
You say you aren't far right, but maybe that's just to what you're used to. America is definitely on the right side of centre. As for the magna carta, its from the 1200s, it means nothing today. I will look at those videos when I next get access to broadband.

I know what you mean but the Magna Carta was only really designed to restrict the king's power to help the nobles, not normal people.
