Turn it in on Monday.
I make my living (at least most of it) with a camera.
Mainly these days i shoot video and i have lit many a movie set. Photography is painting with light. And it is the light u are capturing. Understand the light... take better pics. i also shoot stills for fun, news papers (the few that r left) and as my art. But i have been in the moving picture trades for quite some time.
i too am going kicking and screeming into the digital age. i love the "post" i can do, but a good film camera was as good as the lens u shot through and the film u used. Now with digi, everytime a new higher pixal camera comes out, it seriously devalues what u had, and as a pro, no one whould want me to shoot an "old camera" but when i shot film (i still do) i had a collection of tools from the most modern 35mm cameras i used for things like sports to 30 year old medium format cameras righ to a 4x5 that was built in the 1920's
i own a broadcast quality standard definition vid camera, but when i need to shoot HD or digi stills i rent for the job. and motion film is always a rental.

Not a photographer, but I have signed up for Media and Photography A-level at college today. Course fees come to nearly £300... damn. Plus I now need to buy a 35mm camera (SLR preferably), but its whatevers in my price range. My interviewer recommended that I do photography because Im interested in journalism, and I told him I would rather be an independent journalist rather than work for 'The Man'.
In two years, hopefully Ill be setting off to some war-torn country in search of the story that noone else has found. Difficult and dangerous; for me its just fun.
Some ''brill'' photos in this thread... Not enough discussion about tips on shooting ... I know u all got skills... Share em.. Any how, here are a couple more of my efforts?
