My second crop is hydro, bubbler. I used to grow in dirt at my pad in Chino Hill Ca. had a little greenhouse, 6 foot ceiling, had to tie them down as they grew to an astounding 12-15 ft. Was bag seed and was some pretty decent smoke, lots of cow dung for ferts. I grew one dirt grow in my closet, got 6 plants WW and they didn't flower very pretty, but they were potent. Am into my second attempt with the bubbler. Killed the first batch off trying to adjust PH with bleach and vinegar. My tap water I used on first grow was 650particles to start, with nutes that put it at 1400, so it was fubared to start. The plants got about 6 inches tall really fast then when I started adjusting they got sick. I yanked them, washed the bubbler out with bleach, rinsed well and started over. I'm now at about 10 days from seed with rock wool and growrocks, Ph-5.8-6.4 PPm 650-750 using pure water that I get at the water store for 16 cents a gallon, PPm 6-10. a 10 gallon bubbler with 6-3in. pots and the plants are approaching 6in. tall, they were slow to start, but you can almost watch them grow now. They are growing at an alarming rate compared to the soil grow. at this rate, I'll be putting them into flower within a week, already on the 3rd nodes. Maybe soil tastes better, I remember the Panama red, that is absolutely the best weed I ever smoked and believe me, I've smoked about every kind you can imagine. The second best was Cambodian red, you don't hear much about that, but my brother who was in Viet nam brought some back on a leave and gave me an Oz. man that thing lasted me for over a month, 2 tokes and you were history. I used to roll small pinners and fire them up and forget where I put them after two tokes, I'm sure you can relate.

Mother nature is very random, natural selection and all that, but I doubt whether mother nature is selecting the traits we favour the most.
If you think about it, all seeds produced by a plant are as different as our children.
Same parents, different traits in the offspring, they carry the same features, but are quite different. The big difference between us and mother nature is, we help the plants with the qualities we like to survive. Mother nature drops her seed anywhere and in any weather, unlike hydro/coco or soil in a pot, we decide on the atmos(light times, heat, humidity, food etc), which cutting stays, and what plants gets crossed with another for the seeds we want.
Mother nature's cool, but slow.

Wow 15 years smoking and growing pot way to go Dude.. and now for those of us that smoked the good stuff from the 60's yea,, you remember the 3 finger bag's for $10.00. What, $10.00 bags you say... I smoked many a joint of Acapulco gold wrapped in a yellow wheat straw paper, sticks seeds and anything else for good taste, it was all you could get, Watch out for them cannon balls, when a bag was $10 you might be able to find Sensimilla for $50, hell we'd just buy 5 bags of gold, which would get you higher? The THC content in today's smoke is much higher because you are comparing apples to oranges. As more growers accessed better pot from more exotic places the strains grew and then hybrids of those strains were further developed into what we are enjoying today. Yes marijuana has a higher THC content today than it did in the 60's It also has a higher price.. It's come a long ways from the ditch weed of yesterday and now with the internet potency will continue to increase as information is shared freely among all those that are interested.
