No I dont believe in giving money to them but I bought one who looked really thin and hungry a happy meal once and he was so delighted, it cheered my day up.

i have in the past.....mostly change......but it depends on the attitude of the person asking.........
There aren't too many homeless people begging around here, but there are plenty of people who sell the Big Issue. It's a magazine which they employ homeless or otherwise destitute people to sell, and the sellers write some of the articles themselves. I know a couple of the guys who sell it, and frankly it's a complete con. One guy (that I'm actually trying to avoid, cause he keeps hitting on me) was telling me about how he's just bought himself a new computer, and a few weeks before that it was a new TV. I'm like, what the fuck? This Big Issue thing is supposed to give them enough money to get food, clothes and pay bills, not to get fucking plasma screen TVs! So no, I don't give money to those people. I do give money to buskers though, if I like what they're playing. There's this one really pretty girl who normally plays the flute close to where my boyfriend works, and she plays it really well, so I normally give her some of my spare change.
I thought the people who sold big issue were meant to be homeless?
I give to buskers because they have a job and that is being an entertainer.
Yes, I usually give money to any homeless person that asks.
(I am often downtown clubbin or sometimes just chill out at The Globe with a Tucher.)
Many of these folks are mentally ill and a little compassion never hurt anyone.
I thought so too, but not this guy! He was showing me pictures of his computer on his new(!) phone while he was standing there in the Big Issue "Working Not Begging" shirt with his magazines. *shrugs* Don't ask me what's going on there, I have no idea.Quote:

"Hey, I need your help" <flips sign>
"I got a flat" <flips sign again>
"I'm flat broke!!"
I pulled into a C-Town grocery store and bought the guy like 40 bux in groceries. That was creativity.
only if its for weed and i get a hit off the blunt
yeah, i generally help out as much as i can. the few that arent looking to just get wasted and work i have invited over to help out with whatever. this one guy i paid 8 dollars an hour to shovel the snow from around my old house. invited him in for some food and when he noticed the bong smoked a bit too.
