Shelbay is 100% correct. If you're a woman being attacked by a man you want to make sure that you fuck him up so badly he isn't going to get up and run after you. I studied kickboxing and offensive street fighting for two years. The place where I trained (http://www.militarymuaythai.com/) taught a women's self defense class that was possitively brutal. The goal was to put the attacker in the hospital and if you killed him so be it. There was none of this "kick him in the nuts and run away" shit you see on tv. Like the saying goes "a best defense is a good offense" and this was all offense.

Fortunately the city I live in, San Jose, is pretty mellow. It's the 10th largest city in the U.S. but has very little crime. Actually it is a fact that it has the lowest crime rate, for the city of its size, in the U.S. . I've only had to use my training two times and none of those were in situations that I felt really threatened in. What scares me is that nowadays people are so quick to use a knife or gun. I can hold my own if its hand-to-hand, and even have some training in knife combat, but if someone wants to shoot me? Oh well...:(

weapons only lead to more problems in 99% of the cases

im quite intuitive, thats how i protect myself

my other trick is getting pissed then it dont hurt so much :)

I too shop at consignment shops. Wearing new things makes me feel strange....or maybe its more of a wasteful feelings. Plus i am rasing two grand kids so shopping on a lower budget for myself makes sense. I actually try buying all hemp clothing. Just about anything but cotton. I do do some hemp clothes shopping on E-Bay. Usually pretty good deals.
If you make it out to SF you will love the number of secondhand/Consignment stores. They are every where

true story ^ i tell my girl to go for the throat or the balls. that might sound rough but all guys know just something brushin the balls hurts lol.

I have a large iron bar down the side of my bed, several lock back knifes lying around pretty much in easy reach(i use em for chopping weed up).

But if all alse fails i could just hit them with me guitar

I rarely get any trouble, I think my height and my appearance put most folk off from starting shit with me.
I also have a reputation for having a very bad temper which makes it easier.
