Actually, the son i was referring to is my stepson who my husband and I have full-custody of. We must be doing something right. The meds that our western medicine puts him on have 10 times as many side effects as my oil any day of the week. The oil i gave him is harmless even by the standards of western medicine in the fact that THC has NO proven negetive side effects. It is the smoke inhalation that CAN cause damage.
In fact in many other cultures with symptoms of ADHD, they give these patients cannabis as a cure.
For someone so educated, you make poor points and get very angry without having any TRUE knowledge.
Don't forget, I have also explored this website and saw that you were the one who recommended that a 15-year-old with DOUBTS should keep smokin as it would get better. You are a fool.
By the way, it is mikomomma not daima

I forgot to mention to ryker something or other that when you compare what Ididn't put in my body while pregnant than you can talk. I ate mostly organic food, no coffee, no cigarettes, no alcohol, few sweets, exercised as much as possible. I was also told by a doctor to take vicodine during my pregnancy as I was in a major car accident early on and had major damage to my lower back and hip area. Giving vicodine to pregnant women in our culture is common practice in some places. I did the research and I made a choice based on lagitamite findings and studies. I didn't let someone else tell me what was best for my daughter, I did! I also had her at home without any interventions and she was over 8 pounds and breastfed for a year. Don't critisize just to critisize. When you really want to know about marijuana, you;ll go to sights and learn how to really read a "study". It matters who paid for it, and how many people were involved, and how they did the study. 70% of all marijuana smokers, also smoke cigarettes and in many of those studies about its negative effects, they are using people who smoke both. The government has banned much of the testing. Have you asked yourself why? I have been trained on how to read a study. I am a trained doula, childbirth ed, and lactation educator and have been taking care of children for over 10 years.

I just went back over and read all of that. You sound so young. Please don't talk to me like yoiu are a parent. You know very little about a pregnant body and how THC affects it. Have you heard of a placenta? I only wanted to add that smoking Weed doesn't mean you understand it. I say this because I too started smokin young, but for all the wrong reasons. I didn't start again until later and didn't even come close to understanding it until recently in my life. People like you end up threatening people with your attitude and words and then no one listens. It is ashame that you feel you are so mature but can use the F word at a complete stranger for having an opinion of their own. One day, when you are mature, you will understand what I am talking about. Do me one favor, broaden your horizons and learn a little more before you judge so harshly. Ask more questions before developing such strong convictions. If you don't, you will only have your mother.

Smoking Weed does not cause damage. It's the best way to obtain all of the drug's effects.

I agree, I just didn't have the emotional energy to go into all the statistics and exacts with the angry young adult from before. Smokin is the most efficient and they are beginning to come out with more devices that eliminate some or all of the negatives. I was talking more from the placenta standpoint of carcinagens versus cigarettes. This kid in college was talking about how smokin while pregnant is the same as blowing it in your childs face. I just needed him or her to understand, that yes, the smoke can be dangerous but the amount you need to smoke to get high truly doesn't create enough smoke, therefore not enough carcinagens (i am not spelling that right, sorry) to make the negatives outway the positives.

I work with Special Ed. kids, and my advice is this: it is sooooo not worth the risk! Even if you know people who have smoked while pregnant and it turned out fine, you never know what will happen in utero. A life of caring for a kid with special needs is not worth a few months of sobriety...and think of how WONDERFUL it's going to feel when you finally smoke again!

Smoking anything during pregnancy is a bad idea for the simple reason that what gets into your bloodstream gets into the babies,,would you give a 4 year old a J?? Then why would it be good to give it to an unborn child?? Simple really.
Although it is sensible to advise pregnant women to abstain from using most drugs - including marijuana - the weight of scientific evidence indicates that marijuana has few adverse consequences for the developing human fetus.
I have one question regarding this quote, please define "FEW" since it implicates that there were adverse effects therefore it can't be "harmless", can it?

For years the doctors have been saying that synthetic and natural vitamins are equally good for you. If that is true, then synthetic cannabinoids should have the same effect as natural and vice versa. Please go to Cannabisnews.com and check out the first comment by FOM on NORML's Weekly news bulletin. It seems that in mice prenatal exposure to cannabinoids actually promote the proliferation (growth) of neurons (brain and nerve cells). So, although the actual smoke from marijuana may be bad for your baby, the cannabinoids are helpful and build the brain. Back to brownies? No smoke involved, if you eat it. And get as much sleep as you can--you are going to need it. Have a Happy Holiday and a Happy, Healthy baby.

pleeeaaaase don't smoke while you're pregnant. stay away from all substances (even caffeine!!) i spent all summer working with kids with disabilities caused by exposure to harmful teratogens, it is so sad because all of their disabilities are totally preventable. if you smoke your baby could be born premature and/or have a low birth weight. there is also a chance he/she could have brain damage. just wait and then afterwards you can celebrate and get really stoned.
