whether we should pull out or not has nothin to do with whether the war was justified or not in reality. I dont honestly think we should have gone... or at least at the time we did/way we did. But I also think pulling out now would be a slap in every soldiers/iraqis face.

no, you obviously think pulling out now would make your country look weak. You dont support the troops. You support being the biggest bully in town. It doesnt matter to you whether W lied or not, or whether the troops have enough resources to do the job properly. just keep shippin em off until uncle sam points his finger at YOU...then we'll see yocass' mental regime change.

Constitution ratified, elections in Dec., Sunnis joining the political process, insurgency is down, more and more Iraqi troops trained, and you people talk like this is a mess?

Face it, Iraq is starting to stand on its own. A democracy in the middle of Syria and Iran and you wonder where the suicide bombers come from....it isn't Iraqi's blowing up their own.

They showed this last bombing on the tube. There was a Restaurant owner (that used to cater to the elite), and a china shop owner that are now out of buisiness. BOTH Sunnis! Their gradually getting tired of their own radical minority not to mention Al-Quada.

But of course, it's all a big mess.....right?

elections in dec.: planned, check pending.

sunnis joining political process: technically, check. some sunnis have taken
part in "the political process" (kinda' vague, tho').

insurgency down: not so much a check as a brown flag.

more and more iraqi troops trained: sure; they need to make up for the loss of the tens of battalions that were reported ready a year or so ago. they're down to, what is it, one?

personally, i do think it's a mess. and i think anyone associated w/ the occupation in any way would agree it's an ugly, ugly situation.
