People want to start seeming younger when people start referring to them as "ma'am" or "sir", when they start feeling the effects of aging-they lose muscle, gain fat, get wrinkles. I think about 30 is about when it becomes harder to blend in with the "younger crowd", and you find that you find that more of your friends are married and have kids. But I dont think our society really expects you to be a mature, "grown-up" until you're about 30.
