You can't drug yourself up without having some kind of side effects HOWEVER compared to most other harder street drugs and even alcohol, weed is, in GENERAL, less problematic.
No, you can't OD on weed and if you smoke too much you won't puke your guts out like you would with alcohol.
BUT it can be a trap too. I've definitely had marathon smoking sessions, ripping bonghit after bonghit day after day. It is possible to over saturate yourself with THC. You can feel the effects later on. This also depends on your tolerance which is built up over time and the potency of the weed you are smoking.
I've also had anxiety/paranoia attacks when smoking too much and that is really the problem with weed. The trick is to not smoke your fucking brains out (which is fun) just because you don't really feel like anything will happen.
If you took a shot of liquor instead of a hit when your smoking, say after 20 hits/shots during the day you're going to be fucked up..the thing is with alcohol is that alcohol can shut you down by making you sick or making you pass out. Weed fucks with you too, just in a different way.
So, with all things, too much of anything will screw with your head, so it's better to try and moderate what your doing. That is hard when you have luscious greenery in front of you and you're coming down from the last hit an hour or whenever before(and the buds look so good that you want to eat them like candy.)
Remember you can figure out your metabolism for weed, just get high and see how long it takes you to start coming down and you want to smoke again. This is your body processing the weed..from the first 1-5 minutes when you feel AWESOME to the next 30-60 minutes when your feelin good to the next couple of hours when you feel good but not super high until the next five-six hours when you're just in limbo land (kinda out of it, feel ok but not real high anymore)
Point is, be smart and safe and remember that if you feel like you are addicted, you probably are..WEED can be addictive. It is only NOT considered addictive because the withdrawal symptoms are very mild compared to alcohol and other drugs. That only accounts for the PHYSICAL part of the addiction. The psychological element of the addiction is really the most important part because it's the hardest to overcome.
But have you ever felt like you needed weed? Do you know anyone who needs to smoke weed all the time to function? That's addiction. It may not be a "bad" addiction compared to other things, but it is an addiction nonetheless. If potheads and stoners were using alcohol instead of weed they would be alcoholics and drunks. Think about it.
This is not an anti-weed rant. I love it. But recognize your use of it for what it is.
Denial 'aint just a river in Egypt.
