What are cops good for

though most cops i know are assholes that abuse their power there are a few decent ones out there

I honestly would like to believe that the police do serve a purpose, but at the moment, I only see them extorting and harrasing people that pay their salaries.

i grew up hating the cops.i see it now as just a job.the cops only bug stupid fucks.i think if you are low-pro you have nothing to worry about.on the other hand if i was breaking into your house at three in the morning who you gonna call.huhyeah thats what i thought.people hate coips cuz they dont wanna get caught but when your in some shit 911 is your best friend.people who do nothing wrong have no fear of police only paranoid individuals

What are cops good for?

Keeping you safe at night while you sleep.

You act like it's cops' fault that they do what they do. Like they get some sort of sick pleasure from making you sweat while you're smoking in your car. It's their JOB.

I know that most of the people who like to think that cops, or "pigs" are a bunch of assholes don't have the courage to pick up a gun and keep the streets safe.

If I get branded as a cop-lover, so be it. But I just want a little bit of acknowledgement that their job doesn't just consist of bullying bratty teenagers and eating doughnuts.

True - I think that sometimes cops can go a bit overboard, but it's just as ignorant for you to overgeneralize and say "Fuck the Police" when the vast majority of policemen aren't like that.

I have a bit of a theory about cops and why some are asshole and some aren't.
The problem I belive comes from too many cops in small towns, (at least part of the problem anyway) I come from a pretty small town and this is a real problem.
I have since moved but I lived there for like 13-14 years and never once got helped by a cop. My house was robbed once and they couldn't help me get my stuff back (not necissarily their fault I know) but almost every time I was pulled over or me and my friends got busted somewhere the cops tried to get us for everything they could.
The deal is that if you live in a small town the cop busting you may well have been in school with you, or at least he/she remembers you from a previous encounter. On top of that there are probably too many cops in town than there needs to be. In the town I'm from you never got pulled over by just one cop it was always at least two and sometimes up to four, they just have nothing else to do. Being bored can agrevate a person so my theory is that bored cops in small towns give the rest a bad name. At least partially anyway, I'm sure there are plenty of good cops out there who just want to make the streets safer, and plenty who, for the most part, want to use their authority to harass people who piss them off.
I guess cops are just like everyone else some are nice some are assholes, but most are somewhere in between.

There was a paticular cop in my town and if any cop deserved the title ASSHOLE, he does. I'll just refer to him as officer skank. He got caught screwing the 17 yr. old whore of our town...caught by her father. Now officer skank works in a turkey plant playing with turkey inards. HAHAHAHAHA!!! Dirty fuck deserved it. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

What everyone is saying is true some cops are assholes some are cool as hell...but the problem is it seems like the cops are never around when you need them they only show up when you don't want them around....take tonight for example I was driving home going down the interstate doing the speed limit of 60 and a car on the service road where the speed limit is 45 goes blowing past everyone on the interstate and yet no cops anywhere,but i get pulled over for not coming to a complete stop at a damn yield sign what the hell is wrong with this picture.

like my parents get away with drink driving and shit the whole time, whereas i would be absolutely fucked if i was ever caught, so i dont dare

i was getting pulled over at least once a month and getting proper fucking hassle off the cops, for commiting the most terrible crime of all: being young

dont cops get drug tested weekly?? i think in NJ they do.
