I asked some of the folk's I run with and they said" They have seen pink jelly before." It only stayed around the water ring at water level. Never had to clean like you have, cause it never got that bad. The plants turned out great with very little ph issues. I'll tell all of them that soil is alot more forgiving. Things like this is why I do soil. I'll dabble some with areo and hydro, or drip. I'm still gonna see what I can come up with cause maybe someone will benefit as well as you and I..
Appreciate your efforts Ga.
I was able to scrounge up a few bucks, and got some Physan 20, net pots, and hydroton today. I will post later today on how all that goes.
I think that with the net pots and clay pellets. You'll be able to beat this slime! You'll have more oxygen in the water for the roots. Res. temp is still what helps with roots and oxygen. Just shoot to keep it around 58ish. I wish you the best of luck!:jointsmile:
I'm gonna check in with ya!
Well as the tittle says, major surgery was performed on my girls today.
All the roots were completely engulfed with this jelly slime! Blocking out uptake, just like LOC NAR said.
They were removed from their net pots, cleaned, soaked, and re-potted. All using Physan 20.
Sanitizing: 15ml/gal Physan 20 PH'd to 5.8
All tools, air stones, reservoir, bottles used to cool res, new hydroton, and new net pots were soaked in this solution for about an hour.
Root Soak: 8ml/gal Physan 20 PH'd to 5.8
Once removed from the pots, I washed off all of the jelly slime that I could find. Then they got soaked in this solution for about thirty minutes.
Got washed again, and another soak for about thirty minutes. After this they were re-potted.
Also trimmed off all dead leaves. I will be running a mild nutrient solution for now, due to the fact they are so weak at the moment. Moved my light up about 12" too.
The new plan is do res changes every two days. While I'm doing the res change, they will soak in a Physan 20 solution.
Really hope this works, because it looks like this could be my last chance with these girls.
Of coarse any and all suggestions on this are greatly welcomed.
The Soup:
- 2.5 ml/gal CalMag+
- 2 ml/gal Pro-silicate
- 5 ml/gal Hygrozyme
- 0.5 ml/gal SuperThrive
- 2.5 ml/gal each of Micro, Bloom, & Grow
PPM = 650 @ 0.5 (my tap water is 300 to start)
Came across your thread via your sig...
So what ended up happening? I had the same problem with that algae slime crap. LOC also told me about physan20. That stuff is crazy... it like nuked all that slime to holy hell.
Hope they turned out for you. I have some LSD beans that im saving for a rainy day. :stoned:
It has been rough going, but there is some survivors.
I will have an updated post probably in about a week.
I wanted to get everything taken care of, and then just tell you guys what worked for me.
:hippy:
Sorry for being gone for so long, but got busy and then had surgery. I am back now.
There are two survivors!
This jelly slime was a bitch. Here is a link to a post that helped me with battling this stuff. http://boards.cannabis.com/hydroponi...ml#post2090623
I have learned that beneficial bacteria is key. (at least for me :D) The Cobra was junk! I am using General Hydroponics Sub-Culture B now.
I am also now using a venturi that i made to get extra oxygen into the water.
The remaining two have been topped and LST'd.
I think the big one is a male. :(
That's all for now, the hand still really hurts from surgery.
The pics.
The last one is a close up of the pre-flower on the big plant.
Do you guys think it is male?
I think you will need to look at it in a week to be sure. (does it have big balls let's hope not) Sorry to hear about your hand. Hope it heals up soon.Quote:

Well the big one was male, so just came down.
The other one is showing female tendencies, but no pistols yet. And of coarse the only survivor ends up being the one with the weird growth. It's like the leaves have a problem holding onto chlorophyll. :wtf:
Maybe I should call her Helen. :D
One last couples shot, and then it's a singles party from here on out. :rastabanna:
