This is what we the strain looks like. It does look like weed right? It is a 90 day wonder. Dark green like the strawberry guava plant. It also has a fruity taste and will not rot or mold.

We found the strain about 20 years ago. We rented a old house with a lot of land. On the north side of Maui in a place called Upper Nahiku. Area got @150 inches of rain a year. We started in March and all was great until September. Rained every day that month. Everything was ruined. Fifteen footers done. Mold, rot,and mud.

One day we found neighbors plants on our land. All were perfect. He missed a male and had some seeds. Later on we met him and he thanked us for not ripping him off. He was watching our failed grow and told us to use these seeds next year. We later learned that he was a Vietnam Vet and lived in the jungle, and grew weed for a living.

We planted the seeds he gave us and had a great year. No problems with mold or rot. We crossed the strain with itself and kept it as pure as possible. Whenever we planted in the rainforest we used that strain. Later we crossed it with other promising strains. Results are shown below;

1) Strawberry Guava female/ White widow male cross.
2) Diesel female / White widow male cross.
3) White Widow female / White Widow male.

This has got to be the one of the most wonderful and lucky stories ive ever heard. The strain it self sounds wonderful, then you really found it out in the rain-forest where it is originally grown and then met the person that made. WOW:rastasmoke::thumbsup::jointsmile: How does she smoke? How much does she yeld? More info please

The "D Line" or Chocolope that I have has 2 phenotypes. A tall one that has the damndest side branching you've ever seen it also streaches like a freak the second to third week of flowering, if head room is an issue this is not the one you want. I think the shorter version has the better tasting bud but does not produce like the taller one.
The taste is kind of a sweet fruity flavor on the inhale, the exhale has a bitter (baking) chocolate taste. Produces a clear head high that seems to last. Good social or working weed. A word of caution though---make sure you have plenty of snacks around---this is A+ munchie weed.

You must remember this was 20+ years ago. Back then people had yet to create most of the strains we smoke today. And for the times we thought our strawberry guava was great. If planted in March and harvested in October the plant would get 10-12 ft tall (not very big for a long season plant here). It grew scragily. Branches all over the place. You were lucky to get a lb per plant. Average yield per plant was @ 13 oz. One of our gripes was that the rain would wash off the crystals. It smoked o.k. Not great by todays standards. If by some act of God we had a sunny two weeks before harvest it was quite tasty. Plant was a dark green and dried to almost black.

The gentleman that gave us the seeds told us he brought them back from Vietnam. He bragged that this was the stuff Thai sticks were made from. May or may not be true. I don't know I was very drunk at the time.

Soil in the rainforest is a red clay mud. Junk acidic soil. Our hardest job was moving the strain from the wet side of the island to the dry side. Had big problems. We had to cross it with a Bloodweed strain and that did the trick.

I have a grow log going this year. Every strain I have will be in there. I am now legal so I can document a full year grow. If you are intersted check it out and fire any questions you have at me there.
