My Loss of Faith

Here are my points on the matter.

If everybody that was ever born was able to live untill there 100 then the world wouldnt be able to sustain life.
Its sad a child didnt get to live their life here on ealrth, but thats all it is "living here on earth". We are just pilgrams passing through. Man created those circumstances. If God suddenly started feeding millions of starving children, people would catch on to the fact these foodless kids arent dying. Thus there would be no concept of faith, (faith in something)-the very thing that drives man. If you have no faith in anything you are simply not alive. The poor child is innocent and thus goes to heaven, suffering no more. This world has evil in it. Its not haven, We were not born into a perfect world of harmony and love, why do you think you should get such a reward with out working for it??? Lifes a test.

What an interesting conversation! What's fascinating is that hardcore believers (not naming names) start throwing tantrums and calling names and then accuse the other person for getting defensive! Hahaha! Classic. I love how so many religious folk can't answer a question so they totally go off topic to try to rationalize their view. I think the OP had a very legitimate question. If god doesn't answer the prayers of completely innocent and helpless beings, why would he answer anyone elses? Seriously. Why would anyone else deserve to have their prayers answered if not the innocent? Well, there are major flaws in any organized religion, aren't there?

My view is this - the true god/creator/great spirit, whatever you want to call it is NOTHING like what mainstream religion leads you to believe. No god looking down, pulling the strings making the world go round. We make our own choices, there is no vengeful god that will punish us for utilizing the free will he gave us and making a mistake. What kind of asshole would give everyone only one shot at life, and cause some to be born mentally retarded, and some to die as infants? That's pretty fucked up! They didn't even get a chance to experience what being alive is. I think that the purpose of life is to experience. Life, after life, after life. (You don't have to believe me but if you chose to look, there is strong, untainted evidence for reincarnation.) You know what the Tao Te Ching says, you can't know or appreciate anything without knowing and experiencing the opposite or lack there of. Every experience we have, positive or negative impacts us, makes us grow, builds who we are as a being. We chose to experience the hardships before we enter this life. We can not be a complete being by only experiencing the positive. Is that an excuse for turning a blind eye to those in need of help, because they chose that for themselves? Of course not. Our reaction or non-action to such a scenario determines who WE are. That's what it all boils down to, ourselves. We are each a different aspect of the source, which in turn means that we can never be separated from the source like religious leaders would like you to believe. They of course want you to feel separated so you need them to bring you back to god. How else can you control such a huge population?

The fact is that no human knows how it really is. What is important is thinking for yourself, figuring things out yourself instead of just mindlessly believing something because some guy in robes tells you so. This is YOUR journey, spiritual or not. There are hundreds of religions out there. Nobody can rightfully claim that the one they believe in is THE right one. There is beauty in truth in EVERY religion. I personally believe in a higher power or energy if you will, but I'm not going to get my panties in a twist if someone else doesn't.

I completely disagree. If people saw that kids without food were miraculously not dying, that most certainly would give people faith. Miracle=higher power=something bigger than you=worship. You hear stories all the time about people who's faith is restored because they believe to have experienced a miracle...

The devil has everyone fooled like big time its almost to late for everyone sad but true, so no matter how much anyone tries to prove that God exist or that Jesus is our Lord and savior their stubborn heart will not let them believe.

Just some words spoken by Jesus Christ the son of God, you believe the history books why not the Bible

The devil, like god, is a complete fabrication of man. I'm not being "fooled by satan". There is no such thing. In your belief there is, but again you have no proof. You talk about trying to prove god exists or that Jesus is lord. What proof? There is no proof. Only belief. Belief doesn't make something so.

Here is what amuses me to no end . . . the majority of the US claim to be Christian, yet the first reaction to someone claiming to have had a vision, saw an angel, etc, is to roll the eyes and make the crazy sign. Even other "believers" don't really believe it.

Technically, those are words translated several times and supposedly written by Luke and John to begin with as second hand accounts.

Since history books are written by men, I don't believe them 100%. Ever heard the quote "the conquerors write the history"?

I don't believe the bible because I have read the entire book several times and it is just too fantastic to believe without proof. There is no proof. None. However, there are paradoxes and contradictions galore. Just the sort of thing you'd expect to find in a work written and translated by man.

Haha, that's too funny! The stubborn ones are the hardcore believers. Why believe history books and not the bible? Well, by that "logic" you might as well say "you believe history books, why not the Koran, the Torah, or the Tao Te Ching?" And though there is much disformation in history books, at least there we have proof that those things happened, even though the way it went down is twisted. We have relics from the wars and previous civilizations, we have fossils from dinosaurs, etc. I could also say, if you believe the bible, why not Harry Potter or Cinderella? You, nor anyone else knew the people who wrote the bible, yet you base your whole belief system on what complete strangers say. Not everyone believes everything they hear or read. Quoting scripture? Really? Is that supposed to mean something? Just because someone says something doesn't make it true. I can say things too - "Thousands of years ago, a hairy ape came down from the sky and spoke to a man named Sid, and he told Sid that he is not the true god and that a great magic mushroom created the universe and that humans are to worship shrooms." You going to believe that too? What's the difference? Sure it sounds ridiculous, but no more so than a talking burning bush or a talking snake. Just because someone got a group of people to believe something doesn't make it any truer. And do you really think that the bible has remained un-altered this entire time? On top of not knowing who wrote it in the first place, you don't know what was added to it or taken out during the 2K years it's been around. Anybody could have put in additional text and ripped out others. Don't you know about King James? The only reason you're christian in the first place is because you were raised in that environment. If you were born and raised in Iran, you'd be a muslim quoting the Koran, worshiping Allah believing whole-heartedly that all non-muslims are going to hell.

And this business with the devil, please! The devil is just a patsy so people can place blame on something else and don't have to feel responible for the evil they create themselves.

I don't mean to come off as harsh or confrontational. I really don't care what what you believe as long as it doesn't harm any other living creature..... unlike the crusades and the inquisition. It's just irritating when people are trying to pass myth off as fact.

i agree 100% with u on that. there aint alot of time left, these are the last days. and it say n the bible there will be great spiritual deception b4 the return of christ. its really affecting the church also to the point that pastors want to preach feel good sermons only. and most crictics if they are truly honest with them selves, will admit they are biased with a closed mind and heart. they should do there own research about god and the bible with open hearts and minds.

you see exactly whut i mean, everyone is bein miss lead you guys remind me of the skeptics i take to haunted houses and even though they see things and stuff is captured on camera and EVP's they still are like naw it was my mind playing tricks on me or theres a logical explanation for that brick flying across the room.

Im not telling you to join my beliefs its just my job to tell the truth if you dont listen then F it i wont waste my time but one more thing before I go Jesus is the only way to God so the other religions are screwed sorry harsh words but tru, so how bout we put all are differences aside and smoke some good ass potent bud, cuz no one will know the truth till we die so untill then :rasta:
