LED GROW TEST. 126W hydro grow led VS. 180W pro source LED LIGHT
Be very wary. I found 3 companies from the UK and Europe selling LED's and after only a few months of being in business are already in receivership. It was time well spent checking them out before throwing hard earned money away. Actually I then found this forum and have since purchased 2 lights from khyberkitsune's UK division :)

Helo rattlingdags,
Welcome to the boards, and thanks for mentioning kyber's lights.
While I have found him to be very knowledge about light theroy, I have been a little afraid of what he' might be selling, since they are mfg off shore.
Just recently stra8outaweed posted something, I realized he was using Chinese produced lights, and I've been very impressed with his growing.
But like he said, they are not like cheap UFO,s, cost more to produce....but you get what you pay for.
Good growing to you
OM

Thanks for the welcome Oldmac. This forum is really quite addictive and certainly a wealth of information and helpful people.
I'd just finished reading one of stra8's growlogs and as impressed as I was with his lights, I was just as impressed with his great plant management skills; and that to me was/is just as much a key to his growing success. It was a really impressive growlog for more than just great lights.
I have alot of lurking, reading and learning to do from all you experts.
Happy growing oldmac and seasons greetings :)

I was originally afraid when I first started going to China to find a suitable manufacturer. It certainly didn't help that the only Chinese I knew came from 4 years as an apprenticed oriental chef when I was a teenager, so I could only speak in their language when I wanted to enquire about food, otherwise I had to deal with 'Chinglish' which was about as confusing as JPT3-level Japanese.
The first two companies I went to SUCKED. Sure they had everything, but the manufacturing equipment was dirt cheap, poorly calibrated, and much more. First test run of lights from each company failed miserably, as they had practically ZERO clue on how to handle the extreme heat of high power SMDs, they were still used to working with 5mm and 10mm tail-through diodes.
So I spent another week in Shenzhen trying to find a proper manufacturer. No dice, had to come back to the USA and wait another couple months to get another VISA to China.
I think I found a good company on my fourth visit out there. It took about 6 months to find an appropriate manufacturer that wouldn't screw up and would consistently keep things to my specifications. Such a pain, but sometimes that is what you have to do to ensure you're getting a proper product!
