dam yo i think i have that same strain el nina im growing right now and its a week old.
It makes really nice plants, but I'm pretty sure if I had kept them out of the ground for another week they all would have grown, but the cold, it kills. Right now I have 3, the 3rd from the right in the big plot, and the staked one and the smal one in the small plot. They are the stinky ones! Anyways man good luck, be sure to make a grow log so I can see how they turn out for someone else!
deffinatly i have pictures of them at one week right now on my profile but yea.
So today I pulled off the balls on that suspect plant, inside were like, little strips, kinda hard to describe, but I was wondering if that sounds like something a herm would do. Anyone got some knowledge to share? I'll try to get pics tomorrow..
That close up with the balls and the pistils is exactly what a hermaph will do. Luck for you it showed itself to be so before it pollinated all your girls. Sometimes they wait a while and rear their ugly heads when you have nugs so you can't see them, that's a nightmare waiting to happen.
The other is def of pistils near a top. Just so happens that you have a pink pistil phenotype. I've seen a few pink pistiled hermaphrodites in my day, and they were all bagseed grown outdoors. Hmmmm.....
Just baked and thinking.....ouch it hurts..
Okay, I'm done with that :)
Also, for the one that's still vegging and hasn't shown, that you say stinks; Just because it stinks doesn't guarantee or point toward either sex. If the males had no desirable characteristics, what would we breed with? Some will stink and look absolutely beautiful and healthy and lush all to be doomed to death anyways.
Lookin nice tho, they do look happy out there.
Hey thanks for stopping by irydyum! I guess I'll give that baby the chop asap, as I am not wanting the seeds, too bad that pink pheno is only present in that plant though, oh well. As for the giant still vegging, I am knocking on wood that it is a female, as it is only 1 of the 3 of those seeds, and I would really like to see how they smoke, and given its size, it could produce a nice big bag. But once again, its not up to me, so I will be patient and hope all goes good.:)
Well it is Wednesday, so it is update time! Well looks like irydyum was a bit of a fortune teller, as guess what, the big one thats staked is a MALE. Damn. Now I have to choose if I should let it seed the two plants near it, or if I should just chop him down. I am leaning towards chopping it though, as I have seeds still. Also I chopped that herm, and the little plant that took a beating is starting to get some growth at just the right time. Oh yeah and the giant bush is about 6'4" now, so thats pretty cool.

One huge male could potentially seed out yours, your neighbors, and their neighbors if those bad boys decide open on that day that conditions are best for it. If you decide to kill him you could chop a branch and put it in water like a clone until they open indoors and "selectively" pollinate a couple lower branches.
I'm sure someone with some seeding experience could chime in and tell you exactly how to do it. I'll say that's my one regret is killing all males. Many times I wish there was a pollen fairy that could pollinate just one bud for me. Best of luck with it if you decide to, I'll be watching the process.
I just looked at the pic of the male top, and it may be a little late to control it. If my eyes don't deceive me, it looks like one of the nanners has already opened. Could just be stoned but had to mention it.
Yeah thats my major fear about leaving it, but it is fairly enclosed in the trees it is in, and it is located south of the other plants, and the wind USUALLY blows from the north west here, and I have been in the spot on a really windy day and it was barely noticable.
I don't know I just don't want bunch of seedy shwag. Also these balls JUST appeared like 2 days ago, are male plants able to release pollen that soon after showing? I kinda was under the impression that like the females they have to mature a bit into flowering before they were potent, but I would not mind if someone cleared that up for me.
Well I made the decision, I chopped him down today.
