I'm no FBR or StinkyAttic, nor have I had any good yielding/high potency/quick to ripen grows. Nonetheless, there would be threads in the member's only section which would add a value to my life for which I unfortunately cannot reciprocate to SunDance.
However, if the issue is simply server capacity, is there a way to do cluster or cloud serving? What I mean is, if cann.com could upload a mirror to three or four different machines, which then distribute to three or four other mirrors, and send out svn updates every say five minutes or so, and then when we come to the site, you use the server's processing capacity to generate html which directs all the page elements to the least-trafficked mirrors at that time. Maybe each mirror could upload their avg % of capacity they are using each five minutes. Like bittorrent but done transparently to the web browser. Mirror servers could even have a dynamic ip, if it logs in to tell cann.com whenever the ip changes. If that was the case even I could help host. The only traffic that would have to go out from the cann.com main server would be the updates to the first tier of mirrors, plus a small html that nests in the "real" html from a mirror. If bandwidth is more expensive than cpu cycles, this would be as far as I can tell an elegant solution for many, many financially challenged websites. And whoever is running a mirror could get a nice big Supporter badge next to their avy. :) Now if someone else does this, I want you guys to be my witnesses that I thought of it first. :)
OMG...another blackout....:wtf:
Yes, so I have found refuge at IC as well as many others! No 60 second wait times to check posts and what not.
I will still be here though, as to this is my original home and I will never give it up!
Home is where the heart is.
My heart is here so this must be home dude:hippy:Quote:

These forums are my favorite and original home but I do belong to 3 others.
I think a good suggestion for the future would be to give everyone a heads up when the forums are going to be shut down. :hippy:
I like this board for some reason. I come here and lurk some time when i'm not otherwise tied up. It was a long winter and I shut down all communication while the indoor stuff was going on. But it's spring now and the outdoor show is off to a running start and the house is all cleaned up for BBQ season!
I like this site. It's a wealth of knowledge for the casual grower.
I'd make a donation for a better server. I'd even like to recommend some virtual or dedicated linux server hosts if interested....perhaps put your server in a country with more richous laws.
Have in house MMJ seed sales with seeds from members who wish to donate seeds lots that they have grown using the information delved from this wonderful site. How many seeds do you want? I got WAY too many for my needs. I'm sure many others would donate seeds too. (I followed some info on here about that silver solution to make female plants produce pollen where you spray it....lolz...that shit REALLY works! These female plants pollenated everything in the room!)
Once you got a few hundred thousand seeds donated from members, incorporate, sell seeds, sell shares and pay your taxes. Do it all legal and shit.
This site is critical to the future. If this site wasn't here, the next generation of pot would be shitty. We must look to the future!!! Who would be growing the next generation pot for our future presidents? Who would be growing the pot for our future gold medalists? Our authors, our artists, our astronauts? Who would be growing the future pot for us, the regular people?
The future is at stake here people!
Please! Everyone reading this send in a donation right now to help purchase a "Donate Now" button for this website!
Every little bit helps!

With more and more states legalizing medical marijuana and dispensaries popping up, advertising is going to be critical to their business and what better place to advertise then on this forum? I did notice there's a few advertisements in the Southern California sub-forum now listing menus and prices. That's lost income to the web site. Just my :twocents:
