I understand your stance on the subject, but that test is definatelly not scientific, nor is the 'phases of the moon' technique.

Around two months ago, I planted 15 seeds in 15 cups. All 15 sprouted. I only have room for 12 vegging plants, so I culled the weakest 3. I sexed the plants after being in flower for about a week, and what do ya know...all females. Bummer...I kinda wanted to pollinate.

No. Looking back at my records, I femmed those seeds around 4 years ago.

You want to try and prove the technique? Grab a few hundred thousand seeds of the same genetics, divide into groups of 100, and start planting a few hundred per day, for a couple of hundred lunar cycles. Make sure all are planted at same depth, pointy side down, under identical conditions throughout the germination process. Document the results, then do it again a couple of times to verify findings. Then, do the same thing with pointy sides up. Then face them west, then point them north under a pyramid, lol.

A Google search will show (if you dig deep enough) that a couple of Universities have tried, and to this day, no conclusive results have been posted that I'm aware of. (it's never been proven as a valid technique) If someone comes along with valid proof, I'll possibly reform my opinion, but until then, I'll just keep hangin' garlic around my growspace, to keep those pesky warewolves out of my garden. It's obviously working...as my garden is fine and I've found no warewolf footprints around the area. :jointsmile:

13th day after popping soil: Transplanted to large green plastic cup on 1st when moon in Capricorn (good for planting root crops). Moon was in 1st quarter, which is good for leafy annuals.


Already have roots visible through plastic cup almost to bottom. Gonna let them get a little rootbound before transplanting again.


My intention is to grow a "thoroughbred" plant with all of it's transplanting, etc., done in optimal moon signs. Plants will be flowered in Libra (good sign for flowers) Then plants will be harvested in favorable moon sign. With very little planning ahead it is an easy matter to find good dates, usually 3 day periods, that suit your plant's needs.

Hopefully by taking advantage of different aspects of lunar gardening plants will do better and have fewer problems with molds, disease, pests, etc. Thanks for dropping by!:thumbsup:

Just checked on my Dec 4 planting. One WR has poked up her head tonite! She must be the early bird in the bunch.

Woohoo, 2 WRs popped and 2 COBs popped during the night. Still waiting for the last two......as usual started in small peat pots with promix and perlite. No presoaking etc., just using the powers of the MOON!

These gals are on fire! One week after transplant they have roots coming out bottom again. Already have 4 nodes. Stinky stinky babies. Nothing like the smell of a fresh plant growing in the morning........

So when you garden based on the moon, do you germinate at like 1am on that day?

I have to give the times the moon enters and exits a favorable period. This is mostly so you can avoid planting near exact times given to avoid planting in another sign.

Since 1:23 p.m. EST was time moon entering favorable period, I used time of 4 pm CST to plant on the 4th.

You can plant anytime during the favorable period with good results, I just wanted to get going! This is my experimental log to let others know of this easy method that helps me have healthy plants!

EDIT: After posting this, stuck my head in the bathroom and GUESS WHAT

Now cross ya'lls fingers that I can get 3 moms....one of each type. (Please Santa that is all I want for Christmas...girls.....I have been a good gal.)

The girls are all up this morning trying to get the shells off their heads. I always want to help, but am trying to control myself.
