They would let me smoke, but I always had to drive. Later on at different jobs working in construction many of us would smoke up and or drink all the time. As I got older I noticed that the afternoons were getting too long. Whn I quit getting a buzz at lunch I felt alot better about that. The last ten years or so I didn't/don't drink or smoke anything before or during work. But, once or twice I've gotten calls emergency service when I've been less than straight. Can't help that though.

after not having money, nor weed, i realize that work goes better on the days when i dont smoke first, maybe its cause the paranoia isnt there, but it does go by smoother, though on the 2 big delivery days, i love being high, especially when the deliverys are in the morning, being high and listening to the music i want, i get to choose the music for the store pretty much everyday, is possibly the best feeling ever, especially when you move several hundred 40 pound bags of food in under 2 hours.

I work at a botanical center, and I hit a bong before I ride my bike to work, most days at least.
Pros- I actually enjoy working with the plants. I don't have to work with customers much.
Cons- Someone might notice the red eyes. I might fuck up feeding plants.
:rastasmoke:
I smoke up before I go into work every day.. anywhere from .25 grams to 1 gram. It should be noted that I have a fairly high tolerance (which I may take a month long hiatus from the herb in order to restore my tolerance to a lower level).
I vaporize which nearly eliminates the odor on my clothes and my breath. My non smoking girlfriend and my best friends family says they never smell anything so I know I'm safe on those grounds.
Typically I just smoke enough to get me into my thinking state and a happy high. Once I'm there I put down the bowl/bag of vapor and head into work.
All I can say is that it makes my otherwise mundane job very enjoyable and i'm about 10 times more productive. I never smoke enough to be knocked on my ass, but I find that a small toke actually helps my work productivity and it gives me something to look forward to before I head into the office.
I'm positive that people suspect, but no one knows for sure. I carry a pouch of Go Number 1 (from the makers of the whizzinator) in my laptop bag incase I get called in for a random drug testing. I never go to work unprepared
I'm glad I can't smoke before or during work. It's just about the only thing keeping me from smoking all the time.
I believe the answer to this question is the same as the answer to asking "Is it alright to take *any* drug before or during work." (whether that be drinking coffee, drinking (alcohol), taking benadryl, or what have you)
Basically, it is fine as long as you don't get "drunk" or ingest so much of the drug so as to negatively impact your job performance. If I have a beer or two at lunch and go back to work I'm not any less of a productive employee. Three or more and I'd probably start to be not quite as useful as I usually am. Benadryl can knock me out, so I'd want to take only one of those if I had to take one. Whatever drug you ingest during working hours (whether it is coffee, benadryl, cannabis, or what have you), the point is that you should not become so amped up, tired, or inebriated that you cannot perform your job as well as you would sober.
My own preference is to not smoke at work, though of course there is a time and place for every exception. When I have smoked during work, I have kept it to a minimum in case something important came up.
Disclaimer: I know this is a medical cannabis message board and the mention of other drugs (especially alcohol) is one of the 7 deadly sins... but I'm only mentioning these other things as an example of that which is commonly experienced in our society. Basically, I'm saying treat cannabis as you would any other common drug as far as use in the workplace is concerned.
