Ever feel like you are getting old?
Getting older is fine. You make better choices, you are wiser, there is less uncertainty and more confidence, there is more contentedness, less anxiety. A lot more of the physical and material comforts get taken care of over time. Many of the emotional comforts do to as you find the right person and grow in a relationship. Thngs fall into place as you get older.
So it's not getting old that sucks, it's getting aged. Your neck hurts, your back hurts, your foot hurts, your knee hurts, your teeth hurt. Your hands don't grip, you can't run very fast, you can't stay out in the sun very long, your dick doesn't get as hard, you can't read the phonebook, you can't hear the conversation, you can't eat spicy food, you can't stay up late. You get tired.
So over time it may be that things fall into place, but you fall apart.
Ever feel like you are getting old?
I'm 22 and feel like I'm 90. Where were the good/fun young years? Fucked if I know, life blows and I never even got to experience those fun years everybody else gets. The world pisses me off.

Don't be afraid to live your life. The worst thing about being old (other than the limp, droopy, dripping pecker thing), is any regret for not having LIVED.
This is the best poem I have read about regret, and getting old, and being outside of life:

Bro, dont be too hard on yourself... youre still young... interestingly, my fun/young years only started at this same age, 22... before it i was only a puppet without own life... now im 25 and i can say im living one of the best years of my life. So, dont look backwards, dont think about what would have been... look forward, to what still can be. Cause we cant change our past. Only our present and future. Youre still young... hopefully you will live much more... so, instead of spend your time thinking about the past, enjoy the present... so when you were really old you will look behind and say "well, at least i enjoyed it", instead of "i wish i could have enjoyed more, while i still was young, instead being thinking about what i should have done".
The show must go on, my friend! Enjoy the life, cause its short and very soon it ends.

And this is one of the best about enjoying what you have NOW in this life, not looking toward what comes after, or worrying about what others or God or society will think. It also advises to party a bit, which is funny for a twelfth-century Persian:

Are you talking about being emotionally or physically old?
Every age has it's challenges. I was socially awkward and uncomfortable when I was a bit younger than you are. So I didn't feel that was the best part of my life. I would never want to go back to highschool.
When I was about your age I shed a lot of that and became a lot stronger physically too, but I worried about the future.
Older still, I started working and I saw my future would be secure, but I was lonely and my life seemed boring.
Older still, I solved my loneliness and found new interests, but I started to feel physically old.
There really is no magic age, but you should be entereing a pretty good time at 22. Don't worry about it and dwell on it. Work on what you can to solve what is making you unhappy, and engage in life. Looking back, you will have a lot more regret related to things you did not do than to things you did do.

Never really thought about some of the points you guys were talking about..it does seem life does get better for me mentally. It has settled quite a bit allowing me a lot more peace. It actually has taken quite a bit to get me where I am today.
At one time, I was one of the most violent crazy dishonest people you could ever meet. I hated me, I hated life and I hated the world.
Hmmmm, while I am here thinking about it...what changed me..oh yeah, my first daughter changed me..Big time..along with the help of Carlos Castaneda, Rehab ( that is the first time I have ever said that here), and the Landmark Forum..
Life is good and fun..i try to make every year better than the last and my health is still good and I am also making some more adjustments in my life to become healthier:jointsmile:
Ever feel like you are getting old?
Some days I feel like I am becoming more wise with age, but then again I have dealt with a lot as a kid, so even as a kid I have felt very wise in the ways of life, but only certain aspects. But there are the days when I think "wtf! I'm 30?" when I still feel like I should be 19 or something. So in general I don't really feel my age, but thats a good thing! :)

"Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but its sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but youre older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought Id something more to say"
Funny... the song that always comes to my mind when that strange, ethereal feeling comes 'round is: "TiiIIIIIiiiIiimmmmmee..... is on myyy siiiiiiiidde..... yes it is........ whoaaa..."
Strangely now Incubus is pushing through...
"Heyyyyy Megaaa- lomaniac.. youre no Jesus! Yeah youre no fuckin Elvis! Wash Youre hands clean of yourself baby and
Step down..
. Step down..."
NO.
