I don't get where the reasoning comes from that on predictable intervals the earths magnetic field reverses in some drastic event, after reading about earths magnetic field this seems highly unlikely that it would be a predictable drastic event, and even more so unlikely to be accurate down to a day, or even a year when you're talking 1000's of years ago this was "predicted".
I understand the predictability of solar events, moon cycle etc., but when you are talking geological events/changes, reversal of earths magnetic field volcano etc., the changes either occur over time or are drastic and unpredictable or only predictable in wide approximations, it just doesn't seem to fit with this supposed end of the world. Plus it is not unusual for a society to claim an end of times and many have done it before, the mayans were impressively intelligent however the theory does not fit to me, and considering they it is theorized based on there writings that they did not have telescopes based on references to constellations etc. and there calander year did not account for a leap year, it was 365 days, I do not see any reason to take this much more seriously then previous end of times predictions.
Sorry if this rambles or is incoherant but thanksgiving was harvest and I am enjoying early satisfaction.:stoned:
Of course this is all IMO
It will be an ending, and it will be a beginning.
My parent corporation goes public 12/12/2012
:D
Grazi... symbolism be thy name
It's not only the Mayans that predicted the end/beginning of 2012. There is actually similar predictions from other prophets that are from totally different time eras. I think thats why people actually take this so serious.

Something will happen and current events seem to be closing in around this subject. It's very real.
Now is the time to rid your fear of death, and welcome your afterlives. Life will continue.
I really do think this is a very sketchy topic. I often find that these theories seem unreasonable or silly but the people that believe can sell the theories so well it almost makes you feel like an idiot for not believing it too.
But I'm going to have to say I don't believe it.
What about it don't you believe?Quote:
