rain water is fresh and clean and i disagree with anyone else who says otherwise
Umm...
OK- we'll ignore the research, then...
:angry3: rhizome, you are no doubt intelligent but you live in the armpit of the USA. i'll have my beer now. lol. but honestly what do you think is cleaner? the ground on which we stand (that gets watered by all this rain?) or the rain before it falls to the ground? you either have city water or you have a well, or bottled water, where does that come from? i honestly dont know what your stink is about this kid using rainwater. sorry.
BTW. pepto pink and country blue should be stricken from the color wheel. JMHO
No stink at all- he/she should use any water source that he wants to. Those would be his/her plants, and he/she should use whatever he/she wants.
My point was to dispell the myth that rainwater is clean- it isn't, and hasn't been since we discovered coal as a fuel. The large scale use of chemical pesticides sure as hell hasn't helped.
And when I see statements like...
...well, that's just misinformation, and faith-based at that.Quote:

Rain water is no panacea for water quality problems- it has issues all it's own, and they're getting worse.
When people say that they live in a rural area, and that therefore they " don't have to worry about acid rain", again- they're misinformed.
I don't care what water this individual chooses to use- I just want them to make an informed choice.
By the way- I actually live in a quite bucolic area which is transitioning from primarily agricultural to mixed use ag/suburban- and our local farmers are quite aware of the decline in rain water quality. Thousands of miles from LA.
