I looked at the "Rx Pot" link on their website, about medical marijuana. They say that it is not an effective medicine. Tell that to the people who use it as medicine! They say a better alternative is Marinol, aka: a synthetic THC pill. And yet, on their site they claim cannabis is bad now because it's "more potent than it was in the 60's and 70's," (which was disproven, considering the sample used was from the '70s, and had degraded in potency over 30 or so years, and it was compared to fresh cannabis) and talked down on THC. It makes no sense. "THC is bad for you!" "Oh, but Marinol, which is a pure synthetic THC, is better than Marijuana!"
We are in a very unenlightened society. If heaven exists, I would be 100% positive that the original founders of this country, and the creators of the constitution and the bill of rights, would be very pissed and displeased in how our country has ended up. There is a reason why 14 states have legalized medical marijuana.
It shouldn't be up to politicians about whether marijuana can be used for medicine or not. They obviously have a bias against it. So do these "justthinktwice" idiots.
Look at their "Drug Legalization Doesn't Work" link. How do they know? Obviously our prohibition only escalates crime, and many other bad things (
Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP) â?º Cops Say for more information). Obviously we need a new strategy, and the strategy for the legalization and regulation of drugs makes a lot of sense - more sense than the retarded laws we have now.
Fact & Fiction : Drug Legalization Doesn't Work
There are no citations, and they're lies. The Dutch policies have worked way better than ours. Hard drug use is down, and so is cannabis use within the citizenship of Holland, in fact. There was a slight increase in cannabis use for awhile, but it went down. Even the prime minister of Holland said so. Why do they feel they need to do this? They've obviously never looked at the real facts. Even if they have, then they must have an agenda against cannabis other than "it's such an awful drug." Where the fuck are the websites talking down on Crack-Cocaine? Our country is so incredibly biased against cannabis, more-so than actual hard drugs.
If you legalize it, you can control it, and regulate it. It's obvious, and it makes
a lot of
sense.
My question is, how do these groups still hold such credibility? Oh, I know, because a lot of the "research" that they cite is biased.
By the way, this website is run by the DEA. Credible to you? No. Credible to a majority of the population? Most likely.
